Customer Review: Very Nice SS Lid, but Cannot Have Food Height Over the Brim of the Pan, Except for 7" Pan

This Stainless Steel (SS) lid is very well made and the price is reasonable.
Because it was designed to fit multiple pan diameters, you need to be aware that food in the pan cannot exceed the height of the pan's brim, otherwise some part of the lid will come in contact with the food. This may not matter, but this is a necessary compromise to increase the lid's versatility.
If there is a SS lid designed for a 12-inch pan, I would buy it instead because I often have a lot of food in the pan, and a proper 12-inch lid would have that dome space to allow more food in the pan.

I do not even use any other pot lid now. This is it. Works perfectly. I was hesitant about the price given that I had been using a cheap universal lid I got from Target that was thin aluminum with a clear plastic insert. Plastic insert fell out after a few uses. No such troubles with this one - it's very well made and will probably last a lifetime. And I no longer have a drawer full of different sized lids. And I will no longer cook something open that should have a lid because I am too tired/rushed/lazy to go rooting through the cabinets for the right size. I recently purchased a Tools of the Trade Belgique Stainless Steel Skillet, 12"/6 Qt. from Macy's. It came with a glass lid, which shattered into a billion pieces when I dropped it. The diameter of the top edge of the skillet is not quite 12 inches, so I was pretty sure the universal lid would fit. Well, this lid fits my skillet like it was made for it! I also use it for smaller pots and pans as well. The handle is stainless, too...so nothing to break if I drop it. I highly recommend this lid!Customer Review: Works like a charm!

This versatile lid fits just about any pan or pot. We bought it because we recently switched from nonstick to cast iron and needed a lid for some of our cast iron cooking. At first I was scared because I read a review where someone had a twelve-inch cast iron pan and it didn't fit but thankfully it does! If you have a twelve-inch cast iron pan and need a lid for it, this is your best bet! It's sturdy, easy to clean and has a vent which you can open and close as needed.Customer Review: an idea that really works

I THINK THIS ITEM IS REALLY CLEVER...AND FOR THE PRICE, IT CAN'T BE BEAT. IT'S ATTRACTIVE AND CLEANS UP VERY WELL. IN ADDITION, IT DOES WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO DO...NAMELY COVERS PANS FROM 7" TO 12". FOR SOMEONE LOOKING FOR A COVER FOR DIFFERENT SIZE PANS AND HASN'T THE ROOM FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL PAN, THIS IS PERFECT.
