Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of RSVP Precision Pierced Stainless-Steel 5-Quart ColanderCustomer Review: A colander that drains perfectly, doesn't lose any food Summary: 5 Stars
One of the most-used items in my kitchen. Love it that spaghetti, peas, orzo don't fly down the drain, which is what would happen with my previous colander. And it drains out the liquid very efficiently. I am following the recommendation of Cook's Illustrated and hand-washing, which is easy as long as you wash promptly.
Customer Review: Stainless Steel Colander Summary: 5 Stars
Cooks Illustrated recommended this colander and they were right. What I especially like about it is that it
is sturdy and there are no big holes for pasta or anything else to fall out or get stuck. Makes removing the
pasta easy as it doesn't stick. It's a perfect size as well - not too big or too small.
Customer Review: Precision stainless steel colander Summary: 5 Stars
This colander has about 50% open space, compared with about 5% for a typical aluminum one. It therefore drains quickly, and because the holes are small spaghetti will not try to escape. Despite what Emeril says this colander is a better bet than a boiler/strainer pasta cooker, unless you are cooking a huge amount.
Customer Review: Cooks Illustrated was right! Summary: 5 Stars
Those fancy melamine colanders that we got from Costco are going out the door. Cooks Illustrated was right on the money about this one, and it's the nicest colander we've ever used. Heavily built, beautifully finished, perfect size and shape, and very stable on its base. We'll be giving these as gifts this year.
Customer Review: Drains the water not the spaghetti Summary: 5 Stars
After suffering with a cheap plastic colander for years that let spaghetti escape along with the water, I tossed it and bought this. WOW what a difference, no pasta escapes and it drains out the water instantly. I read the recommendation for this colander in Cook's Illustrated and boy were they right!
