Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of RSVP Endurance® Salt Server with SpoonCustomer Review: like Alton Brown's salt cellar Summary: 5 Stars
We use this in the kitchen, just like Alton Brown (this one isn't endorsed by him, but we couldn't find one that is). It's a great way to get to our salt for adding to recipes, rather than trying to dump it out of those little spouts on the boxes. I can hold and open it with one hand and reach in with the other for anything from a pinch to a spoonful. The dish comes out of the base for easy cleaning as well. And the little spoon allows for easy use serving at dinner as well. So it's multi-functional.
Customer Review: Alton Brown has one Summary: 5 Stars
My husband has wanted one of these ever since he saw Alton Brown with one. I finally broke down and bought it for him. I have to admit, I love it. We use sea salt and kosher salt, and the containers they come in make it very hard to get a "pinch" of salt. This server makes getting a pinch or a teaspoon so easy! Plus it looks nice on the table.
My only wish is that it was easier to keep the stainless steel lid clean and free of fingerprints.
Customer Review: Thanks Alton! Summary: 5 Stars
I started finding it a pain to pull the box of kosher salt out of the cupboard, so I decided to buy this, thanks to seeing Alton Brown use it on "Good Eats". The look of this item works with our kitchen, as we have granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. The lid has a gasket which keeps moisture out of the vessel itself. The glass bowl sits perfectly in the metal holder, and can be removed for washing.
And excellent buy, for me!
Customer Review: versatile container Summary: 5 Stars
This salt server can be used for more than just salt. I keep it next to my stove and store in it a herb mixture that I often use when cooking. It is air tight and handsome looking (my cleaning lady even noticed it and remarked on how attractive it looks). The tiny spoon can sit inside the bowl, and the spoon is just the right size for use in sprinkling on a small amount of herbs.
Customer Review: You know why you want it Summary: 5 Stars
It's what Alton Brown uses on Good Eats. I got an official Sodium Chloride Containment Unit from his website (it was cheaper and I'd rather he made money off of it. And it WAS cheaper). That said, it works well to contain your sodium chloride. If you don't use it often or leave it open, the salt will absorb dampness. His doesn't come with a spoon, but then, who uses a spoon?
