Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Braun MX2050 PowerMax 525-Watt 58-Ounce Jug Blender

Customer Review: Best blender I've ever had
Summary: 5 Stars

I have previously owned Osterizer and Cuisinart blenders. When my most recent Cuisinart blender bit the dust, I bought the Braun because it was top-rated by Cook's Illustrated magazine. It is far superior to my old blenders. In fact, the first time I used it I couldn't believe how fast and how quietly it made a smoothie. I was anticipating a similar struggle to the Cuisinart blender -- several minutes of ear-piercing grinding and having to stop the blender to redistribute the contents with a spatula. In the Braun, it took 10 quiet effortless seconds. It really was astonishing. The triangular shape of the glass pitcher seems to allow for better swirling of the contents, and the blades (two serrated and two plain) seem to cut through frozen fruit and other ingredients very efficiently. The unit comes apart easily for cleaning and also goes back together easily. I only wish I had bought this years ago.

Customer Review: Great value for great blender
Summary: 5 Stars

Like many I chose this blender based on it's consumer reports recommendation and customer reviews on Amazon. I use my blender at least twice a day for smoothies, etc. and was very disappointed in the Cuisinart I had before. When it broke I was looking for a replacement that worked well and was surprised (and a bit skeptical) that the price was so low. Believe it, though! I love this blender. It's not the best looking out there, but don't be fooled. As I said, I use my blender at least twice a day and it works so much better than the pricier, better looking model I replaced. I'm not expecting it to last forever, not because it's quality, but because of my frequent use of it. I'll definately buy another one of these without hesitation.

Customer Review: Worth the money
Summary: 5 Stars

I shopped a long time before buying a blender. I wanted a glass jug and ample power for as little dinero possible. After doing a little research I learned it met the acceptable standard for Cooks and decided to make the buy. It does not disappoint. The key thing I'm learning is to make sure there's enough liquid in the blender to get the fruit churning. Also, I find that adding the ice cubes to the end of the mixture instead of the beginning puts less wear on the blender. Smoothie Fan

Customer Review: Wonderful
Summary: 5 Stars

Frequency: Every day
Use: Breakfast drinks, purees, smoothies
eg; 1/2 un-peeled apples, whole celery stalks, handfuls of spinach leaves, un-peeled cucumber halves...all of this and it purees it with speed and no effort - the result = smooth, fully blended, no undesirable chunks remaining
eg; fresh, unprocessed baby food that DOES NOT NEED STRAINING with fresh vegetables and fruits! Truly - NO STRAINING NEEDED. Remarkable!

A HIGHLY recommended machine.

Customer Review: Summer Fruit shakes with ease
Summary: 5 Stars

I read a CU blender review and decided to buy a Braun blender. I have a severe dairy allergy to cow products. I have been very happy to make my own shakes. I can throw in frozen stawberries, a bananna, goat yogurt and goats milk and make a fabulous frozen shake in 30 seconds. Cleanup is a snap, using the blender pulse mode, cleans everything in place without disassembly of the glass bowl and cutters. What a well thought out product and such a bargain price!
