I was very pleased to pick up this dispenser from our local Sam's club for $179. The only "issue" we had was that the PRIMO label fell off as soon as we unpackaged it (which we were just fine with). However, we took that as a very bad sign but we have been VERY happy with the unit so far. We have had it for over a month now and never had a problem with the pump or the water tasting funny. I'm not so sure that half of the issues with the "bad water" wasn't more of the water bottle's fault than the unit. I know that some bottled water that gets overheated during shipping will have a faint plastic smell/taste to it. I had that happen at a previous job with their machine. In the summer the water was always more "plastic-y".
Anyway, the unit is quite quiet and does exactly as described. Without changing any settings, the hot water comes out at 170ºF, the cold (which I believe can be changed but I haven't) is 50ºF, and the cool (for us) is about 65ºF. So the hot is perfect for tea and the cold is quite refreshing. We use the hot rather heavily as we are heavy tea drinkers and since we work from home we use the unit all day. We go though a 5 gallon jug about every 10 days.
I am very happy with the design as well. Is has a removable drip tray (which is unfortunately plastic, but very sturdy), and the bottom loading design is exactly what I was looking for. It is very easy to load. We had four 5 gallon PRIMO bottles given to us, but I also have 2 generic ones we purchased at Kmart and they all fit fine. I really LOVE the buttons too. They are recessed away from the front of the machine and up high so I don't have to worry about little kids grabbing handles. You also have to push in a clip while pressing down on the hot water (which is easy to do with one hand) which is another nice safety feature. The bottom loading design also makes the unit bottom heavy (instead of the very unstable top loading design that always felt like it would tip over).
Also FYI, it beeps when the water needs changing. It's not obnoxious, but a rather faint reminder. I don't know if it ever stops, as we always just change it when it beeps, but I wanted to let everyone know.
Overall we are very happy with it.
