I really wanted to start making my own pasta so I researched a lot of pasta rollers. I was a bit nervous about some of the cheaper machines but I wasn't willing to pay an arm and a leg for something I wouldn't be using all the time. I decided to get this one because it has good reviews and is fairly priced.
I was so excited to make up some pasta that I made same the day I got it, but I didn't have what I needed to make a good sauce, so I committed the tragic sin of pairing homemade noodles with store bought sauce, the noodle were great but the sauce was terrible. I will not be making that mistake again!
I wasn't happy with the instruction and recipe book though, there was only one recipe and it didn't say what to do with the noodles after they were cut and separated ( I knew they should be boiled but others might not).
You really do need to clean it with some throw away dough before the first use, the dough I was cleaning with got pretty filthy. Make sure you pass it through all the rollers and the cutters several times.
I am really exited about trying again with homemade sauce and really like the machine it seems perfect to start out with. If I find myself making pasta all the time, when this one wears out I might just pay the price for the Italian brand but for now this machine is great.
