Customer Review: Precise Heat Stainless Steel
Summary: 4 Stars

What I was most impressed with was the overall quality of the product.. made like a tank will probably last forever. There are other issues. When you cook with my pan all your cooking oil goes over to one side.. not sure if it's the feet or the pan surface itself that's not level. I just move stuff around a bit to make sure everything gets coated with cooking oil. There's definately a peak in the middle of the pan that causes every thing to run to the sides. Once your done be very careful moving the pan .. the internal oil is still hot and the outer surface of the pan will still be very warm after several minutes of being unplugged. Cleaning this pan is not easy. The instructions say not to use steel wool products. I've been using water and baking soda and letting pan heat back up and boil this solution to loosen any food still in the pan. Then let it cool a bit before attempting to clean with a rag. Also the temperature gauge is not in the right place on my pan.. I have to just guess what temperature I'm cooking at... you'll need to work with the temperature settings to make sure you don't get things too hot. The temp light goes out when the temperature has reached the setting on the dail... not just when the pan is on.

Customer Review: Takes some getting used to
Summary: 4 Stars

For people who are used to your average teflon-coated electric skillet, beware. This skillet is very heavy and very large. This skillet gets very hot. It is a little slow to warm up, so you need to give it a minute before you start cooking or it will continue to heat up while you are cooking and it will burn your food. This is NOT a no-stick surface, you will need some oil or some PAM to keep from making a scorched mess. It cleans marginally well in a dishwasher. You may need to scrape it with a scrubbing pad to get it totally clean (although because it's stainless steel you can scrape it with a scouring pad and it will look BRAND NEW). You will probably want a steel spatula as this thing will melt one made out of plastic. On the positive side, it seems like it will last forever.

Customer Review: good product

I love the fact that it does not have any non stick teflon in it which is why I chose this product. It also cooks very even and is a nice depth to make a meal in.

The only 2 downfalls with it are it is very heavy ( I guess that is understandable since it has oil in the bottom) and it does not get hot enough to fry potatoes quickly and crisply. I just may need a little more getting used to it.

I would highly recommend it on the fact of NO TEFLON.

Customer Review: High learning curve - not very precise
Summary: 3 Stars

I purchased this skillet in August of 2009. I wanted to be fair in my review and use it for awhile before relating my experience. This skillet was purchased because the teflon coated $20-40 range skillets are pathetic in regards to heat management and coating coming off as well as endurance. All of my other cook ware are stainless steel, so I was tentatively prepared to attempt this type of electric skillet. I had reservations in the beginning with the temperature control, which was not digital and which is the major weakness of this skillet, as well as the teflon coated ones. I really didn't expect to be able to "bake a cake" as the manufacturer advertises that one can do with this skillet. My kitchen is not complete and most major meals, dinner and weekend breakfasts are cooked in the skillet. After a year, the husband has got pancakes and eggs down to a tee. Myself, I can saute` and cook "egg pies" pretty well, but there is always very dark browned or burned undersides. The heat is difficult to control and I have never gone above 300 degrees. I would never deep fry any food in this skillet - as it just gets too hot too quickly. Our preferred oil is coconut, which seems to do best. If you are a novice cook, little experience with steam cooking and have no patience, this skillet is not for you. If you don't care to eat teflon and by a replacement cheap teflon coated skillet every six months, then give this one a try - it will definitely outlast the others and you will get your investment back in 2-3 years assuming one buys a new skillet every six months like we have. I suggest that the only way to determine if this is really as great as manufacturer suggests and not difficult to use do to user skill, then one would have to learn to cook with this in a controlled setting such as a cooking class where 3 or more of these skillets would be demonstrated by professional cheffs. Even better would be to watch a professional cheff use skillet for the first time.

Customer Review: Wondering about this one
Summary: 3 Stars

I purchased this skillet along with other pieces. I was not as happy with this pc. as I was with the others. The skillet arrived with broken knobs. I felt like the quality was not quite like I had hoped for the price. Amazon has mad it quick and easy to return and get a replacement, however it is a hassel to return any item. Amazon was quick to send the replacement I should get it today. Hopefully this will be a happy ending.
