The wood mills are 8-3/4 inches and that includes the metal knob. The base is 2 1/4 inch in diameter. Each mill weighs 11 oz and comes with about a tablespoon of salt/pepper but much more will fit. The metal knobs include a a black "S" or a "P" making it easy to identify the one you want.
The color seems pretty true. I was happy with it.
The paint is glossy and very smooth. (I'll update if it chips)The mills are rather large but fit well in my hand. I like the way the mills grind but I have owned only one other mill so that is not much to judge it against. Over all I am happy with this lightning deal.

I bought the Peugeot Salt and Pepper Mills through Amazon 3 years ago, they are good but not really great! You have to keep tightening them down, they do not stay on the setting you like. Other then that they look nice and work good.
