Customer Review: Best toothpaste for dogs

I bought this for my 1 year old mini dachshund. He has terrible breath, and so I figured it probably had something to do with his mouth. I use this product about 3 times a week, and his breath is SOOOOOO much better. Now I don't cringe when he comes to lick my face. Even better, his teeth look wonderful. He had the makings of some plaque build up on his canines and on his back molars. The surfaces of his teeth look whiter with very little plaque still left. Furthermore, after using this product I was able to scrape of those tough to remove build ups that occur in the back. All in all this product is wonderful as far as results are concerned.
The 4oz bottle is a decent size. I brush 2-4 times a week and have only used about 1/3 of the bottle I bought around 2.5 months ago. It looks like someone who brushes a small dog's teeth as much as I do could get at least 6 months out of it. So 35 bucks or so a year is well worth the price for the benefit of this product. Just make sure to keep the lid closed when not in use so it doesn't dry up or get crusty (it's a pink gel with alcohol in it).
All of this being said, my dog hates this toothpaste. He prefers the chicken flavor stuff as opposed to the minty/alcohol fresh taste of this. He grudgingly gives in every time though, and its definitely been worth the effort to hold him still long enough for a brushing with this product multiple times a week. Brushing your dog's teeth now will save you money and him discomfort in the future. Seriously, just do it :)
