Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Pet Parade Dog Repeller and Training AidCustomer Review: Pet Parade dog repeller report Summary: 5 Stars
After reading the reviews and looking at the price (for $10 you can't go wrong), I decided to try this item to see if I could train my dogs to stop barking on command. They need more work, but they do stop when I give the command "stop barking" and push the button. In fact, after about 3 times, the mere sight of the device in my hand sends the two dachshunds to another room.
Next I tried it on neighborhood dogs we encounter on our walks. They are OK dogs, but can be a nuisance sniffing around and getting in the way. I've tried it on at least 5 dogs--one being an overgrown lab/horse mix (I think). I aim the device, push the button and they immediately stop in their tracks and either walk or run the other way. The last time I tried it today the dog was about 25' from me and it worked.
I highly recommend the device. Performs well.
Customer Review: GREAT product Summary: 5 Stars
I bought the cheaper version because of the price. After reading the reviews on other products, I thought it might not do the trick so why spend the money. I'm very pleased. I orginally was trying to stop the aggressive dog next door from standing at the fence and barking, because I have 2 dogs that go crazy when they see him outside. This dog just stands at the fence, barking, it's so hard to sit outside and enjoy my backyard. Well, the product works not on the neighbors dog, laugh but on my two. I just tap the button and point it toward them and say get away from the fence and they slink away. It's a great training tool, the neighbors dog isn't intent on barking cause he has no one along the fence to be aggressive two are staying away from the fence and are playing on the other side of the extremely happy!
Customer Review: Works as Advertised Summary: 5 Stars
I was skeptical, but hopeful that this product would work. However, I was pleasantly surprised. This device works well for my neighbor's dogs - they rarely come to my fence anymore, and if they do, they don't bark at me while I'm in my own back yard. This product is perfect because I am able to effectively train my neighbor's dogs in an inconspicuous fashion. The instructions recommend using verbal commands in conjunction with this device, but in my case, I found that using the device sparingly, and only as a direct form of negative reinforcement when they barked at me was sufficient. Also, the range that worked well for me is about 10-15 ft - if I walk up to the fence while the dogs are barking, they'll back away, so I had to have a bit of a distance. All in all, I am pleased with this product, and will continue to recommend it.
Customer Review: I can't believe how great it work!! Summary: 5 Stars
I have 2 dogs and my westie is the problem. Anyone who knows about terriers know how much they LOVE to bark. My westie will bark at anything and everything and she loves to bark at all the other dogs in the neighborhood when I bring her for a walk it is the opposite of relaxing to say the least. I've tried everything I could thing of to stop this annoying habit. I've bought other more expensive anti-barking devices but this is the cheapest and most effective I've ever used. I only used it a few times so far and now when we go for a walk when she starts to bark at the other dogs I just say NO and push the button and she instantly stops and will ignore the other dogs! I'm telling you this has never happened. I am now buying another one for in case this first one breaks or I lose it. I'm telling you for $10 you can't go wrong.
Customer Review: IT WORKED Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this Bark Stopper in hopes of getting my Standard Schnauzer to stop the nuisance barking. I used it twice, both times on the 2nd bark & said "quiet" at the same time I pressed it. That's all it took. She no longer barks at joggers running by my house or neighbors out in their own yard. The only time she barks is to let me know someone is at the door. As soon as I go to the door & say "quiet" she stops immediately, & she gets lots of praise because she stops on que. I will add that she is a very sensitive dog. I tried a bark collar on her & she ran upstairs and would not come out of her crate for hours, even treats didn't work. I knew at this point I needed something gentler. As the price for the Bark Stopper is so reasonable I thought what the heck, I'll give it a try. It turned out to be more than I expected.
