Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Pet Parade Dog Repeller and Training AidCustomer Review: Amazing! Worked like a charm! Summary: 5 Stars
I was very hesitant and not at all convinced when purchasing this item.
One of our three-year-old Yorkie-poos started to bark obnoxiously for no reason non stop every evening. As my husband sat on the couch Tucker would jump at my husband and bark. We had no idea why! It drove us almost insane. All of the dogs needs were met - but he would seem to do this just for attention, and as the weeks went on it became unbearable.
We tried everything! So this little item was my last shot. I SWEAR I only used it once or twice for one evening, and said said "no bark" as I quickly pushed the button. Tuck immediately stopped barking and ran upstairs. The second night (and ever since) I only need to say "no bark" and he clearly gets it. This little thing was a life saver. My house is so much quieter! I still can't believe how quickly this thing worked!
LOVE IT and HIGHLY Recommend it!

Customer Review: Great as a training tool NOT FOR deterring angry dogs! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this device to distract my dog from barking long enough for him to be able to listen to my command to stop barking. For that purpose it works great...but I found another great use for it. Long distance recalls.
I find it ironic that a device meant to scare away dogs, sends mine flying towards it to investigate the source of such a curious noise. One tap of the button he bolts over to me, holding it down just makes him wag his tail and circle me.
In order to test this on a larger control group, I brought it to my local dog park, sat in the corner, and gave it a tap. In seconds every dog in the park was running over to me.
I high discourage anyone from buying this device if they intend to use it to scare away violent dogs, as it is essentially an electronic dog whistle.
I can upload a video to demonstrate this behavior if anyone likes.
Customer Review: Stopped a dog from attacking Summary: 5 Stars
Although this device has been really effective on curbing our Maltese's barking, I hadn't planned on submitting a review until tonight. Earlier, we headed out for a walk. On the way out the door I decided to take the device along. I can't tell you why I did that but I did. Good thing too. About 10 min. into the walk a larger dog (boxer) came tearing through an open front door that its owner was entering and headed right for us - barking / snarling the whole way. Thankfully I had the device in hand and the presence of mind to point and use it. No kidding the darned thing worked! The boxer stopped DEAD in its tracks about 8' away. It stood there for about a second (it felt like a minute) then bolted back towards the house. I felt a little bad because my poor dog was just staring up at me with a look like "What the heck?? I'm not barking man!" Better than being a chew toy I say. So glad I bought it!
Customer Review: Works Great! Summary: 5 Stars
Bought one of these due to the neighbors dog barking at me and my kids everytime we are in our backyard. My wife tried to make friends with the dog a few months ago and got bit. The dog is a female mutt about 5 years old and weighing about 50 lbs. After I received the unit I put in a battery and headed outside. Immediately the dog ran to the fence and started barking and growling at me. I pointed the unit at the dog and pressed the button. The dog stopped barking turned it's head slightly to listen to the sound, and ran away with it's tail down! After doing this twice in a 2 day period the dog does not bark at us in the yard anymore! Anytime it sees me or my family it quietly goes back into their garage. We can finally enjoy our backyard without the constant barking noise! The noise is NOT audible to us at all. The other reviewers must have received a defective unit.
Customer Review: Works like a charm Summary: 5 Stars
We have a small dog that likes to charge the door like a vicious killer whenever someone knocks or rings the bell. He actually ran out on the pizza guy once and almost bit him. I knew we had to train him somehow to stay back from the door, but since he was an older dog when we got him, I knew it wouldn't be easy. I ordered this based on the positive reviews, popped in the battery, and waited on the next incident. When he charged, I said NO! and pushed the button. He immediately went and got back into his bed. We repeated this maybe three times over a week period, and now he is so much calmer, does not get upset or vicious about the door. So not only did it stop the behavior, but he is a much happier dog. I highly recommend this product. I did wonder, since I can't hear anything when I pushed the button "Does this thing even work?" But it gets an instant reaction from dogs.
