Customer Review: Amazed with the results

I read all the reviews here and I have to admit I was very skeptical...until I broke this sucker out of the package! My girlfriend and I have a 6 year old rescue who has been a handful for the past 2 years. Our meals were always a mixture of whining and barking as the little guy begs for food. We had tried everything to have a peaceful meal and nothing had worked. First night with this training aid it was like a miracle cure. We began to eat and sure enough the whining and barking started. I pointed, clicked and told him "no". It was like a bolt of electricity went through him. He shut up immediately, put his tail between his legs and moved away from the table. After a few minutes he tried to start up again. I pointed, clicked and said "no". Needless to say he got the idea very quickly and we had our first quiet meal in a long time. Now all I have to do is show him the device and he gets quiet instantly. Its amazing! I tried it on the neighbors dogs that bark at me every time I set foot in my back yard with the same result. The only problem is that they have now simply moved to the far part of their yard and started barking. At least now when I go into my backyard they run to the far end of theirs instead of barking right at the fence. Its progress. If this device had a 50ft range and the button didn't stick occasionally (easy to fix) it would be absolutely perfect. A very inexpensive and effective tool. Highly recommend.

Customer Review: It worked for me!

This product was long overdue for me. I wanted to buy something several months ago since our new neighbors moved in w/their boxer. The dog just does not stop barking once it starts and I was loosing my mind. My boyfriend was skeptical and told me not to buy anything - but he also wasn't willing to confront our new neighbors w/me either. I didn't want any trouble so I thought I would take matters into my own hands since it didn't seem the noise bothered anyone else including them. The night we came home and it arrived on our door step - we ran inside the house, put a 9v in and ran outside - the dog actually stopped barking! My bf even watched the dog from a peep hole and noticed it looked around for the sound. We had to do it a few times that night on different occasions when it would act up again but it's only been a few day's and so far we've only had to do it once and it stops barking immediately. The button did get stuck the first night we tried it, we thought it broke - but we just took it apart and fixed it - no biggy. We got two so it's all good. I hope it keeps working - so far so good! No complaints here! My bf did put it near his ear and said he did hear something and it hurt his ears - so don't try it on yourself! Our next door neighbor's dog has excellent ears as it hears us from inside the house - so we knew it would hear this. I definitely recommend it. I finally have so me peace and quiet. =)

Customer Review: Surprisingly Effective Training Aid
Summary: 5 Stars

I got this as a gift from my sister and brother-in-law, who bought theirs from Amazon. They were raving about how effective it has been for their little dog who would run out the door and be long gone. They said that now he backs up and sits or lies down. He's not happy about it, but he listens. My family was concerned about it hurting the dogs, but it doesn't appear to. When my dogs pick up something they are not supposed to, one shot and they drop it and look at it. They're not afraid of it, like the electric collar which I tried on a previous dog and will never use again. You may have to be consistent; they won't necessarily train immediately, but it does get their attention, it doesn't hurt them, and they seem to catch on right away. If they're smart, they know when you don't have it with you in the beginning, but my sister says that after a while you don't even need it. Ours is silent. We don't hear anything, unlike some others have experienced. If it didn't work, I was willing to pay the price to try because it's not expensive. Believe me, training a dog out of or into a habit can get to be very expensive. I still have other things I want to try this on. I'm very pleased. I especially like that I don't have to get mean or loud or angry or anything. I just say no and press it when the undesired action takes place. It's sure nice not to have to (or want to) yell and scream.

Customer Review: It Really Works!

I bought this after using a shock collar several years ago and finding that it burned two holes in my dogs neck. Granted, she wasn't the smartest thing on the block and continued to bark even after it shocked her (we weren't home at the time) but I was just sick when I saw what I had allowed to happen to her. We had used it on the super smart doberman we had at the time and he never barked once after it shocked him so we thought it would be the same for her. Obviously, a painful and costly mistake for our baby girl. We wanted a safe but effective alternative and after checking out many pricey options we found the reviews of the Pet Parade Dog Repeller and Training Aid a good reason to give it a try. It works beautifully. We have a black lab and a mini dachshund who both needed work on their barking and it did the trick. The lab learned the very first time and didn't let out another bark while in the house. The dachshund was a little slower to figure it out (or more stubborn?) and took a couple of trys to stop. And she will still try to bark inside but all I have to do is give the trainer a push and say no barking and she stops. It has been a lifesaver. It even works through the door to the room her crate is in when I'm sitting across the room next to it. Do not hesitate to buy this. It's humane and at this price how can you go wrong?

I'm a walker and there's a small, annoying dog along my walking route that now and then runs up close to me and barks loudly. He has even brushed up against me at times. So, I bought this unit in hopes of having a non-violent defensive measure to keep him under control.

So, I'm walking one day with my new dog repeller in my pocket and here comes Milo, all teeth and noise. I waited until he got to within 15-20 feet of me and then clicked the repeller's button, aiming it right at him, as directed. It was like I had turned off Milo's switch. He stopped dead in his tracks, ceased his nasty barking, and his expression went immediately to passive. Then he merely turned and ran back to his house. That one encounter alone was worth the price of the repeller.

We also have two yappy miniature Dachshunds in our house and I have given them a short repeller burst now and then to keep them from doing their usual yapping duet. Now, all I have to do is show it to them and they slink away quietly. No need to press the button. This approach also works for keeping them from begging at the table.

I give Pet Parade's Dog and Bark Repeller and Training Aid a 10 out of 10. For walkers, runners, and cyclists, this is a must-have item. Don't leave home without it!
