I felt compelled to write after reading some of the negative reviews this product received. First of all, the directions couldn't be more clear. It gives the ratio of water to use with how many cups of pasta you use. Following these directions, plus stirring midway (as it tells you to do) my pasta came out perfect. I like my pasta a little more done so I cooked it 2 - 3 min. more. As for the plastic taste........I followed the directions that tell you, before using for the first time, put water in container along with all other parts except lid and microwave 10 minutes....remove and wash with hot water and detergent thoroughly. Following these directions, my pasta had only the taste it was supposed to have.
With it just being my husband and I, I'm always looking for ways to cut my cooking and clean up time down and the Pasta N More does just that. It's was so great not having to contend with a pan on the stove plus a strainer and bowl, as I served my pasta in the container.... and..... it was soooooo easy to clean.
As for the recipe book being lame......please....there are 50 recipes in this tiny book.....what more can you want? Granted, probably all of the recipes won't taste that great.....but it's a pasta cooker.....I got it to cook pasta, anything else I can make in it is, for me, a bonus.

I bought a Past N More for a friend for Christmas. She loved it. So I decided to buy one for myself and I love it.
I was always wiping the moisture off the range hood, windows and cabinets when I boiled pasta and with this item, there is no moisture problem! Also, you can put the pasta in the microwave with one step, forget about it, and prepare the rest of your meal. The extra time it takes to cook the pasta allows you to do other tasks and not have to be watching the pot boil.
I don't understand why, but the pasta does not stick together despite the fact that it is just lying in the water. It is cooked to our liking. I recommend salting the water-instructions do not mention salt and the first pasta we had definitly reflected that!
I love this cooker and know that I will appreciate it more in the summer (we do not have air conditioning)when I can eliminate that open pot boiling on the stove. Not sure if I will use all the other pieces that come with the Pasta N More but I probably will steam veggies and cook squash in it, too.

I've had this product for over a year and I use it every time I make pasta. I often cook sauce and meat with noodles and having 2 pots and a pan on a stove takes up a lot of space. Being able to put this is the microwave is great.
I also love that it's a strainer. I usually put a towel around the top, since the steam tends to burn my hands when I'm draining it. That's not a big deal though.
You can easily cook an entire box of pasta in here. I usually don't have to cook any pasta for more than 15-16 minutes. I wouldn't say it really cuts down on cook time, but it saves me having to wash an extra pot!
I haven't tried steaming anything in it, so I can't comment on that. But even if you only use it for pasta it's so worth it. I wouldn't buy it here though, as you can get it in most stores for $20.

I picked up the Pasta N More at a thrift store for $2(still in the plastic...looked like it had never been used),and couldn't resist giving it a try. Its true the instructions are a bit vague (not sure why) but if you are making spaghetti, you dont really need much instruction. I did follow the cooking directions exactly and at the end of 16 minutes, I had perfect al dente spaghetti....and it wasnt stuck together like it gets when I make it in a pot! I was actually surprised, considering some of the complaints of the unit. And the straining cover is VERY convenient. I havent tried the Pasta N More for steaming because I already have a microwave steamer, but I really got this for spaghetti so I wouldnt have to boil water for pasta in the summer and heat up the kitchen unnecessarily. Normally I do not write reviews; I just read them before I buy...anything and everything! But I gotta tell ya, this is really the best pasta cooker I have ever had! I do not know how or what the other folks are doing wrong to have their pasta NOT come out perfect every time, but my does! Honestly my experiences have been nothing but great! I guess it's like anything else, it works for some and not for others. And the little book that comes with it was very easy for me to understand and it's loaded with great meal ideas! I have bought many things from here, some with very poor reviews, but in all my dealings, everything I have purchased works great! Call me lucky I guess. Anyway, you'll have to decide for yourself...but mine is well work the money!
