As a professional pastry chef, I have often used silicone baking mats and know what a useful item they can be. I also know how expensive they are. This mat offers the best of both worlds; great performance at an affordable price.
While these mats have their limitations (can't cut on them, some storage issues, discoloration) their usefulness far outweighs those minor details. On top of all the things they can do, you aren't adding to a landfill with parchment paper or foil every time you use them.
If you haven't used these mats, pick up one or two to use. Follow the instructions and you'll add a great tool to your cooking line-up. Not only are they wonderful for baking, if you make any type of candy, you'll find these quite handy.

I had initially heard of these silicon mats a few years ago, but put off purchasing them for various reasons. A lightning deal here changed my mind and the only thing I regret is not purchasing more than one!!! I have never had such an easy time baking and removing cookes from any pan before. I would recommend this product to any baker. It fits easily in a jelly roll pan can accomodate a dozen large cookies per sheet. I haven't used it for anything other than cookies and rolls at this point, but I do not think there will be a problem with any other types of baked goods. Cleaning was super-easy with some soap and water in the sink. I am planning on purchasing more to make cooking even quicker. I bought two of these baking mats and both my husband and I are impressed. I bought a very thin silicone sheet at a local store for $9.99. It worked twice and then it burned through, don't fall for that like I did. Amazon's baking mat is 20x thicker, and 30% cheaper. I first used it for biscuits which always stick to the pan, but these biscuit all slid to one side of the baking sheet so fast that the pan almost flipped over. That night I made garlic cheese toast to go with dinner, it slid off the pan as well. So did the oven fries my husband fixed the next night. Clean up is just a wipe down with soap and water. This would make a great gift for someone that likes to cook but doesn't like to scrub pans.

Don't you hate it when your cookies burn on the bottom and are still doughy on the top? No more-thank goodness for this baking mat! I have baked two batches of cookies so far and let me tell you, I don't know how I lived without it. My cookies look perfect on the top and the bottom and I've had to check 'em many times to be sure they are actually done all the way through because I am so used to having them burn before I'd know they were actually done.
This is super easy to wash up as well and the instructions say to hand wash it and store it rolled up. So far, no problems. I will update after a few more uses. It says it is good for 3000 uses. I wish I could find a cookie sheet with a claim like that!

This cooking mat works great. I have used it on three of four different things without any of them sticking. I didn't notice a hot rubber smell when baking or a funny taste on the food. I did wash with soap once and when it was in the oven I could smell the soap when I opened the door I could also smell the soap on the food but couldn't taste it. After that I have just been rinsing and scrubbing with a paper towel. You may want to get more than one for different types of food. Not sure if it will hold up to 3000 uses but it seems like it will last long enough for the price.
