So I've tried making "zucchini noodles" before by using a regular ol' paring knife...didn't work out so well. I finally bought the spiral slicer and made shrimp scampi ... regular pasta for my husband and "zucchini pasta" for myself.
I added the zucchini pasta to the pan with the shrimp and let it simmer in the butter sauce...OMG it was AWESOME!!!
I can't wait to use it again!

I bought this basically to make raw zucchini spaghetti and it's all I've used it for so far, but I have to say that this product excels at that one task. The strands come out long and with perfect thickness and texture. I still have to experiment with other uses for this slicer, but even if I only use it to make the raw spaghetti, I'll be happy with the money I spent. I bought this on a whim at an outlet store about 12 years ago. I've since given it twice as a gift. I use it mostly for making zucchini & squash "pasta", but it does well with potatoes. I nuke whole carrots for about 1 min so they soften up. It's fun to use, & I can throw the working parts in the dishwasher. No rust, so far. I have recently started trying to incorporate more raw foods in to my diet and making zucchini pasta seemed like a great way to eat more veggies. This spiral slicer is easy to use, easy to clean and does a great job. I'm excited to start playing with it for other foods. It does take up more space than some that I've seen but it is sturdy and effective and that was worth way more to me!Customer Review: Excellent raw pasta maker!

This is so easy to use. It makes diffrent cuts of veggies too. My favorite part is being able to make the pasta which is made from just placing a zucchinni or cucumber in the attatchment & spiralzing it into pasta. It really looks like pasta too...healthy & good for you! I haven't used all the attachment cutting blades yet but am sure they will do great as well! Excellent product!
