Customer Review: Great Product - Much Better Than Brita

I've been using Pur filters for years, since I read about the technology they use. I have a pourable pitcher in the bathroom and a countertop model in the kitchen. I'm sad that I can no longer buy replacement filters locally (western San Jose, CA). Drugstores, Target, Costco and the rest now seem to carry only Brita. Too bad--Brita-filtered water at friends' homes tastes noticeably worse.
Filtering really is worth it. Big savings vis-a-vis bottled water and much better for the environment (less plastic). I find Pur a good compromise between bottled and the very expensive filtering systems.

I live in Southern California where the quality of water can vary greatly depending on where you live. Generally speaking, its not too great! Ever since getting the Ultimate Pitcher I have been very satisfied with my purchase! Its easy to fill and fits conveniently in my fridge. The taste at room temp is good but when chilled, its as good or better than anything I've had out of a bottle! It may seem a little pricey at first, but like my daddy always used to say, you get what you pay for! You will not be disappointed with your purchase! I have been using this filteration system for 4 years. One summer, I even took this filter with the pitcher to visit my family in India. I usually come down with a bout or two of stomach upset when I am visiting India. This time I did not have any problem. In the US the filter has performed very well. After the "new filter" taste goes away, the water tastes very good. My children never had any problem either. I don't know how cost effective it is over delivered drinking water, but it is certainly more convenient for some one like me who has back problems and cannot lift heavy 5 gallon water bottles.Customer Review: Great buy.. I have used the PUR water filter pitcher for over 2 years, and I am thoroughly satisfied with it.
Every time I drink water from it, I am confident that it is germ-free.
There is one more interesting thing that I noticed.
The price at which the 3-pack is sold brings the lowest price per filter (i.e. $6.67). The 4-pack comes to $8.66/ filter, 2-pack comes to $7.99/ filter and a single filter comes to $9.06.
I would suggest that you buy a 3-pack.
I wanted to stock up filters because we use 2 pitchers at home. And this is a must-buy.

We used the Britta system for almost 9 years to filter our nasty tasting local water. We were becoming dissatisfied with the "floating" carbon particles with each filter change and found that the filters were not taking out all of the bad taste. We decided to give the PUR countertop system a try - about the same price as Britta to set up - and were amazed at the better quality of filtered water! The taste is great and no more carbon floaters from the filters. The only "complaint" would be that these filters are harder to find and more expensive than Britta. The extra cost is worth it.
