Customer Review: Safely filter out the bad stuff and get clean, fresh water.

Tap water has a most unpleasant taste. At least to me. I like my water to be pure and fresh, good tasting. That's why I use PUR filters in my two pitchers. I love the taste of the water. It tastes better to me than bottled water. I fill up my Thermos with fresh water and take it with me when I go out. I've used other filters but feel safer with PUR. I'm never unhappy with the taste of the water that PUR filters provide.
Check around for the best price. I generally find Target has the lowest price and I can just go to the local store and buy what I need. No need to over pay.
Highly recommended.

The filters are individually packaged, covered in a nice reflective chrome foil wrapping that when opened reveals the cobalt blue Pur water filter. You must remember to remove the old filter before installing the new filter. The old filter unscrews in counter-clockwise orientation and the new filter screws into the pitcher's orifice in a clockwise orientation, reminding me of the adage: lefty... loosey, righty...tighty. It is easier to do this procedure while the pitcher is void of water. Then fill the pitcher up with water, wait patiently for the water to drizzle through and enjoy the joys of filtered water.

Customer Review: Great filter, great dispenser.

I live in Peru, in the Andes where, for `gringos', it is imperative to have filtered water or expensive bottle water. I have tested the water that is piped from the town water supply and it had fecal contamination.
I have used the Pur Dispenser for two years and, knock on plastic, have never be sick from bacterial enteropathogens. We are also careful in food preparation (Duh). Though the filter is slated for 40 gallons I have used it for at least twice that with good results.
I highly recommend, both the dispenser, and filter for those that have (or suspect they have) contaminate water.

I've lived and camped all over, including many places with funky tasting or dangerous tap/ river water. Sulfer in water smells the worst, many minerals and chemicals just taste bad and Giardia ridden water at camp sites will make you sick. Consequesntly, I'm a big fan of water-filters for camping and filter pitchers for home use; Pur is the best brand that I've used, for both. Do the research, Pur removes MORE impurities than other (more common) brands. After buying a pitcher, the replacement filters are easy to use, relatively quick and super effective (and cheaper, like everything else, when bought in bulk quantity).Customer Review: best home filter!
