Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Oster BPST02-B Professional Series Blender, BlackCustomer Review: Blender Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great blender. I owned one years ago and it was a war horse that finally gave out after much use. I replaced it with a fancy Osterizer that had a million settings, none of which I ever used. It was pretty useless at chopping ice. My kids love this one for making smoothies and noticed that there were only 2 settings, ON and PULSE. I told them that was all they would need. Very skeptically they made their first smoothie and were amazed at the power and short time it took to process their iced drinks. Amazon's price was fantastic - $63.83 and free shipping. I checked elsewhere before buying and couldn't find it under $89.99 plus tax and shipping. I highly recommend it. There is definitely truth to the fact that simple is best!
Customer Review: Excellent Blender! Summary: 5 Stars
We returned a Margarator (ugh) and bought this blender as a replacement. Yes, it's loud, but after watching it work I don't mind the noise. For frozen margaritas, we must have tried at least four other blenders and the Margarator over the last few years, and never got the right consistency. The Oster has produced perfect margaritas from the very first attempt. For shakes, a little coaxing is sometimes necessary until the ice cream loosens up, probably because there's no slow stirring speed on this blender. It just goes wide open when you switch it on, and nearly wide open when you pulse.
This blender is a home bartender's dream, and has been equally impressive in the other tasks we've thrown at it. Absolutely worth the price.
Customer Review: Simple is beautiful Summary: 5 Stars
The handsomely elegant glass-on-black Oster blender crushes ice with ease and doesn't shake, as some less sturdy contenders do.
Users who value simplicity - like this reviewer's noble spouse - find the available two-speed transmission sufficient with no hankerings for more. The neutral black base and textured glass are attractive in kitchens of many colors, which adds to the appeal. One guest opined that our new blender 'reminded her of a really hot man in a tuxedo.' Actually, she didn't say anything about a really hot man, but the rest is true.
This blender is louder than some others, but that is the price of power.
If you want classic lines and simple operation, this may be the blender for you.
Customer Review: Simply the best... Summary: 5 Stars
I've had this now for about 6 months or so, and I make smoothies and orange julius imitations from time to time and this baby is a real workhorse! It's squat, ugly, industrial gray and utilitatian in design and as loud as a mig at takeoff when going full blend, but underneath this blender lies the heart of a beast that will surely never die. There is no alternative to an all metal drive shaft and linkages, cheap plastic won't last half as long and good luck finding a replacement part when you need one... Sure the other blenders out there are prettier and come in a kaleidoscope of colors to match any decor but if it's just blending power and reliability you're after then I whole-heartedly reccomend this one!
Customer Review: Easy to use and works great! Summary: 5 Stars
I wanted to buy another blender but my girlfriend insisted that we not get that one because of how it looked, she wanted a beehive shaped one. I agreed to the increased expense of this one only because of its all metal drive and strong motor. I am glad I did. This thing eats ice for breakfast and anything else you toss in there(watch your fingers!). I have never used a professional strength/quality blender before, what a difference. I fill it up with a few cups of ice, some drink mix pulse it a few times to get things going then I turn it on for 30 seconds and bam my drink is done. It also whips some air into it so you get that nice froth in a margarita at the top. I would buy again, working great!
