Customer Review: Terrific Blender
Summary: 5 Stars

For years I have been putting up with a poorly designed Kitchen Aid blender that always made a mess. I paid a lot of money for it too. After cleaning another mess the other day I decided to throw it out.

Thanks to all of you for your reviews. I decided to get this blender.

It's everything I wanted in a blender, fast, doesn't overflow, and, while it looks as tho it doesn't hold as much as my old blender, it DOES.

Instead of having chunks of berries left in the bottom, it blends them in with smoothies. It's fast too.

So, it's noisy. So what. It only takes seconds and I don't think you could have such a large motor and quiet. I'd rather have the horsepower.

I don't think you can go wrong buying this blender.

Almost 3 years later:

The Blender is still performing, even grinds small amounts of grain like flax seed, oatmeal. Best blender I've ever had.

Customer Review: Works well, some quirks.
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been making a lot of smoothies lately and my last blender broke. I bought this after reading all of the positive reviews. As mentioned, it is LOUD, and powerful. It works well with ice, and I imagine it would crush just about anything. Sometimes it spins, so fast that it creates a little space around the blade, and then nothing else gets blended. You have to stop the blender and shake it, or smack the bottom. I have varied the order I add the ingredients in, but it still happens. As much money as I paid, I would like for it to work perfectly. It also seems to hold less than my previous blender. Other than that it works well and is powerful.

Update... I just bumped this to 5 stars from 4. I use it 3x daily now, it sounds like a jet engine when used in a confined space but it gets the job done. I found that if I add ice as the very last ingredient to a smoothie that it does a better job of mixing everything. I love this baby.

Customer Review: Finally, a great blender!
Summary: 5 Stars

Like most... we've gone through our share of cheap blenders over the years. We were sick of our last blender just not doing the job, 12 speeds or not. After a bit of research on Amazon, and some great reviews, I ordered this fantastic blender.

It's very simple... but what do you really need? Both my wife and I make shakes daily, and we use a fair amount of ice... this blender destroys the ice FAST and make a nice thick shake in mere seconds. I've yet to hear it bog, slow down, etc anytime we've used it in any application.

Also, the base is very simple and clean, as is the attachment part of the glass. It is definitely less likely to get dirty (nasty is more like it) then our previous cheaper blenders.

The blender is a bit loud... but we are talking alot of power here! And you don't need it on near as long as cheaper blenders either.

I'd definately recommend this blender.

Customer Review: Wonderful for smoothies and raw foods diets
Summary: 5 Stars

Thank you Oster for saving me $300.

My wife recently went on a raw foods diet and insisted that she needed a $350-$550 Vitamix or Blendtec blender because that's what all the raw food sites recommended. My thought was that raw foods were all fairly soft anyway, so what's the need for something that can blend concrete? I talked her into this Oster blender with the promise that if it broke I would get her the Vitamix. Since the Oster comes with a 3-year warranty I think I can save the expense for a while. :)

So far the Oster has been fantastic. We've had it for about a month now and it gets used every day for raw foods smoothies and other foods. It's a very solidly built blender and feels very high quality. As other reviews say, it is LOUD, but the expensive ones are too. Cleanup is also very easy using the recommended method of simply blending some hot water with a bit of soap.

Customer Review: I'd give it 6 stars if I could!
Summary: 5 Stars

I got this blender 2 months ago and, in a word, I adore it! I have gone through many blenders in my time, most recently an expensive KitchenAid that--to put it mildly--sucked (left big chunks of ice and banana when I tried to make smoothies). Well, this Oster is the cat's meow! I have been using it practically every day to make breakfast smoothies and frozen bar drinks. I don't at all mind the noise that some reviewers have complained about because it is so fast and produces such a smooth result that the noise is of no consequence. In fact, it does such a good job pureeing fruit, that I throw in peaches and nectarines with the skin and thereby get the full benefit of the fiber. I even finally crushed plain ice cubes in it the other day, and after only a few seconds, I had perfect snow! This has now replaced by Cuisinart as my favorite appliance. I can't wait to puree soups in it come winter time!
