Customer Review: Pulverized....
Summary: 5 Stars

I do not normally write reviews, but I do use them for every Amazon purchase I make. I was going to purchase the Montel Williams blender we all see advertised on TV because I wanted to start making fruit and vegetable shakes. This was my main reason. I have never purchased such a high quality blender in my life! From the glass container, to the good quality metal build to the rubber feet that stop the blender from moving around the counter top, even the blade it comes with. This product is about a good a deal as you can get for the price.

To the few people who have reviewed this product stating that it will not make vegetable shakes very well, I have made one every day for the last 2 months I have owned this blender. I put cucumber, carrots, spinach, red pepper and an apple in with a few cups of water and about 6 ice cubes and this thing works like a champ! I am expecting these people were too stupid to add water and ice cubes, put dry vegetables and fruit in and turned it on! This is the only explanation I can come up with. If you do that of COURSE its not going to blend everything. Someone else wrote that they believe if they put concrete in this blender it would pulverize it. I am beginning to believe it myself!! Trust me when I say this, you will not have a problem blending anything as long as you add a few ice cubes and a little water or milk (depending on what you are making). Buy this blender, you will not regret it.

The only con I can think of is the noise. I was too close to it one day and it is so loud my ears were ringing afterwards. But if you want this much power and speed there is no way around it, so I don't really consider it a con.

Customer Review: Better than KitchenAid
Summary: 5 Stars

I had a KitchenAid blender for many years. It almost always left chunks of frozen fruit in my smoothies. This one doesn't do that. As other reviewers mention, it is loud! I have decided I can deal with that because it doesn't take very long to create a lump-free smoothie that goes easily through a drinking straw. I start the blending process on the lower "pulse" speed to minimize the contents flying all over the interior, and after a second or two I turn it up to the other speed for 10-15 seconds -- I might stand back or cover my ears --and breakfast is ready.

Another thing I like about this blender in comparison with the KitchenAid -- the accessories. I sometimes use the Blend-N-go Cup Oster 6848-000-950 Blend-N-Go Cup -- mainly if I forgot to wash the travel mug I usually use. I also suspect that replacement parts are going to be cheaper and easier to find than for KitchenAid.

Here's my smoothie recipe, in the order I add the ingredients:
4 to 6 frozen strawberries
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
(optional) a little hot water to start the thawing process and slightly warm the smoothie
2 heaping tablespoons Jarrow Formulas Fermented Soy Essence
(optional) powdered greens or vitamins
3 tablespoons ground flax seed (use 2 if you want a less thick drink)
approx. 3/4 cup juice -- my favorite is L&A Pineapple Coconut.

If I have it, some chunks of fresh pineapple are wonderful, or you might use a piece of banana to add sweetness. Thanks to the soy powder, this sees me through to lunch.

Customer Review: VERY GOOD BLENDER
Summary: 5 Stars

i didn't purchase this blender from amazon because i found it cheaper at a local store but amazon is my number one shopping site. anyway i read some reviews before buying this blender and i couldn't believe some of the bad reviews that some of the other reviewers wrote. i want to know something, are these people from the stone age? what were they trying to crush or blend, concrete? this blender is powerful and works really well, i don't know how they could break it by blending stuff that is suppose to go in a blender. if they want to crush stones, get a stone mill or something, don't use this blender, also about the noise, this blender is so much more pleasant and easy on the ear when in use compare to those other regular blenders that make so much noise trying to blend stuff. it is not loud at all , as a matter of fact it is much quieter than most regular blenders out there. i was expecting some crazy loud noise when i was going to try it but i was extremely pleased with sound. if the instructions didn't say not to run it more than 3 mins at a time, i might have left it on for the rest of the day. i guess the people who complains about the noise sounding like a jet engine wears those ear pieces that magnifies the sound so they could hear properly, so i guess they have it cranked up to much, and maybe some of them still plays with their baby toys, so the real thing might sound loud, but in real world application, this blender sounds real smooth when working, i will recommend this blender as a 1st choice.

Customer Review: Industrial blender
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this blender for frozen drinks. Our 20 year old Oster would struggle with a full jar of ice. It started smoking one time so frozen drinks became a chore having to do a 1/3 jar of ice at a time. Maxim magazine reviewed four powerful blenders in a past issue and this Oster was the least expensive at $100 and performed well. I happened upon this one for less than $60 shipped. I received it in less than a week.
Let me start by saying that this thing looks like a tool more than a kitchen appliance. I happen to like that. Its retro design is still attractive enough to leave on the countertop. The switch is a simple 2 position down for pulse or up for wide open throttle. Those are the only speeds I ever used anyway and cleanig between all of the small buttons is a thing of the past. It makes fast work of a blender full of ice cubes. I pulse it a few times to break up the ice then switch to on. An air pocket develops sometime over the blades and the mix stops getting sucked to the bottom, but a shake of the jar will settle it back on the blades. By the time this happens the drink is usually done anyway.
Some reviewers complained of the noise and it is loud but not much different than my old blender. As I mentioned, I bought this for frozen drinks (bar drinks) so waking somebody up wasn't a factor. If you are looking for an all business heavy duty blender I highly recommend this one.

Customer Review: Love it!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have only owned the product for a short time (and used it about a dozen times), so I can't say how well it'll last. But the honeymoon phase is in full effect! I love this machine; the only machine in my house I love more is my TV. It is solid and heavy, and doesn't move around when you use it. Normally I dislike loud machines (and trust me, this baby is loud), but the sheer awesomeness of its blending power is best expressed through its growling noise. Ice cubes? BAM! crushed at the speed of sound. Smoothies? Shakes? Bring it ON!

I love the simplicity of "blend" versus "pulse"; fifty different speeds rarely produce fifty different results and I hate the clutter of a lot of buttons on front. The switch feels solid and well made; i dislike buttons or dials because they always seem poorly made.

I also prefer that the jug is glass (which doesn't stain, works better w/ hot foods, and is non-stick). The blades also separate from the jug, which makes it easier to clean, and in the future (when dulled) easier and cheaper to replace. The lid is nice and tight, although the grip isn't the most effective for pulling it off the jug.

I definitely recommend this blender....with the caveat that I've only owned it a short time.
