Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Oster 6291 6-Slice Convection Toaster Oven, WhiteCustomer Review: Very happy with this Convection Toaster Oven Summary: 4 Stars
The broiler coils on my old Welbilt toaster convection oven quit heating. I'd had it many years, and it was a good investment, but Welbilt must have quit making them, because I couldn't find one. So I started searching the Internet and compared many different brands and models. I settled on this one, and I am very pleased with it. I don't think you can beat the quality at this price.
I bought a 12-inch frozen pizza to test if it would fit, and it did fit. (I can't report on how it turned out, however, because I forgot and cooked it in my big oven!) Other reviewers are correct that the toast would have to be smaller than I'm used to buying to fit 6 slices. I still use my regular toaster when I'm toasting 2 slices, but if I'm toasting 4 slices for BLT's for my husband and I, I use this oven--I put the rack on the top placement guides and turn it upside down so the toast is evenly between the bottom and top heating coils. This oven is not as tall as my old one, so it is more efficient at toasting, since the bread is closer to the heat coils. No toaster convection oven is going to be as efficient as a conventional toaster, however. I was very happy that it cooks very evenly (my welbilt always cooked hotter on the left side than the right side). Basically, I cook anything that will fit in this oven, and it cooks just as well as my big oven.
I got tired of using foil on the drip pan of my old oven, so I purchased the Chef's Planet Nonstick Toaster Oven Liner, and it fits perfectly on the tray that pulls out to wash. So far all spills have rinsed off very easily with no scrubbing, so I'm happy with that. (The only thing I can't understand is why grease gets under the liner so that the tray needs to be cleaned as well--in fact, it's hard to get the burned stains off, but since the liner covers the tray and looks very neat, it doesn't bother me. However, this is the only reason I didn't give it the full 5 stars.) I love the fact that you can pull out the tray and clean the liner and/or tray without opening the oven door.
Customer Review: Nice Toaster Oven Summary: 4 Stars
Purchased our 1st Toaster Oven, ever. Our wall oven died and needed something to get us by until we get it replaced.
We purchased the 6291 model. It is great for doing our melted cheese and frittatas better than the wall oven ever did. Baked bagels in it also. Can't wait to do a steak.
Only complaint I have is the broiler pan is cheap. But we purchased a nice one, so the cost was closer to $80 instead of $65 which was the cost we paid for the oven. But well worth the price to us.
Actually thinking of not replacing the wall oven as the toaster oven and a roaster oven we already owned will be all we need. And save energy at the same time.

Customer Review: Great....but top gets extremely hot Summary: 4 Stars
Looking to replace my expensive cusinart model (old and beat up now) with a mid priced one and chose this after reading the reviews. Very happy with how it functions and cleans (so sick of the crumb tray in the BACK with the cusinart)but the top gets burning hot and my kitchen is small - so using the top for storage is inevitable. Was able to get a footed ceramic tray from Pier One that fits almost exactly to use as a "buffer" between this hot top and my donut boxes!
Customer Review: Roomy and toasts great Summary: 4 Stars
Bought this when our 11-year old toaster oven broke. Wanted lots of toasting room and good toasting performance. So far (1 month) this model has delivered with no problems. Also looks nice in white kitchen. Fits 6 Thomas' English Muffin halves easily.
