I bought this because I love poached eggs. After reading the reviews I knew this was the one. It has worked like a charm for soft-boiled and hard boiled eggs too. Just remember to use cooking spray (Pam) generously on the poaching tray, invert the egg holder the correct way (otherwise the tray gets stuck in the lid)and with just a little water you have perfect poached eggs. Love it!! I do wish Oster would put an alarm on this unit. The soft click when the light goes out is hard for me to hear so I just busy myself with the English muffins, Canadian bacon and Hollandaise sauce. It all comes together at the same time and I'm in heaven!!Customer Review: Excellent Egg Cooker!

I love poached eggs in the morning, and use hard cooked eggs for everything from egg salads to potato salads. This is my third egg cooker in the span of 20 years, and I am very happy with it. Excellent design, easy to use and clean, and so far, very reliable. Also, I appreciate not having an obnoxious beeper to tell me when my eggs are done. I hope to use this appliance for many years to come. Having a non corrosive surface, and built in measuring for water are clear improvements for the user, yet many egg cookers don't incorporate these features. This is by far the best egg cooker I've encountered. Can poach up to 4 eggs at a time.Customer Review: Why didn't I own this years ago?!

If you make hard boiled eggs, do yourself a huge favor and buy this. I used to hate making hard boiled eggs because removing the shells could be such a chore. The shells of the hard cooked eggs just slip right off the egg. I love this egg cooker. Soooooo easy to have perfect hard "boiled" or soft cooked eggs or poached eggs. This is the best gadget one can have in the kitchen if you cook eggs. It truly makes it much easier and they are always cooked just right. I have had it for many months now and I use it all the time. Easy clean up. There is often a little residue in the base -- a little vinegar takes care of it with no problem.Customer Review: Great eggs, Jetsons-retro design

Purchased as a replacement for an ancient Salton egg cooker because it had the same great features plus some improvements, such as automatic cutoff and precisely-marked water levels. Cooked 8 hard-boiled eggs perfectly on the first try. The non-stick water reservoir, which collects calcium deposits from egg shells and red ink from wee stamps on some egg brands, is very easy to wipe clean. It's small and somewhat amusing in a Jetsons-retro way ("I'm your tiny egg robot, here to cook your breakfast?"), but the cord is not detachable for inside cooker storage, as was the old barnacled Salton's, so it's stored in a cupboard to avoid clutter.Customer Review: The only way to poach an egg.

This is the second Oster Egg cooker that I have owened. The first on was over 25 years old and was still working, however the finish was worn off from use. Follow the instructions and you will get perfect poached of boiled eggs every time, no muss of fuss. Add H20 and eggs hit the button and wait, fast and easy. Recommendation, never put the parts in a dish washer. Only negative comment is that the inside of the heating bowl is a little difficult to keep clean since you cannot immerse the unit. These cookers are hard to find in stores,for years I thought that they had stopped manufacturing them until I found them on Amazon.com.
