Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Oster 4207 Electric Wine-Bottle Opener

Customer Review: nice design, really works!!
Summary: 5 Stars

My mother gave this to my husband as a gift (even though I always open the wine) I am left handed and usually have trouble with can openers and wine openers. She bought it because our local TV station tests products that are sold on TV. They gave it 2 thumbs up and so am I! It doesn't take that much counter space and looks pretty sleek. More so, it is a conversation piece when company is over. Beware though, it is not very quiet, maybe a little quieter than a can opener. Tuck it in a corner if you have to but it is worth every penny so far! I am buying more from Amazon for gifts for friends.

Customer Review: Best so far!
Summary: 5 Stars

After reading the previous reviews posted on Amazon, I decided that more people of thought this as a good opener than not. Although I have been using this for about one month, so far it has worked flawlessly. I have had two "rabbit" style openers that cost 2 to 3 times the cost of this opener that lasted (actually broke into pieces) from 1 to 3 years, so only time will tell on its longivity. I am also using it on both natural and plastic corks. I am using the advice of one reviewer to put a dab of oil (olive) on the tip of the corkscrew for ease of use, especially better with plastic corks.

Customer Review: Best thing since sliced bread
Summary: 5 Stars

If you've ever fought with a cork, this wine bottle opener is a MUST HAVE. Remove the foil with the cutter (supplied), position the bottom of the opener on top of the cork and press the down arrow on the front. Keep a slight upward pressure on the opener and "viola" -- the cork is out of the bottle. To remove the cork from the opener, press the up arrow until the cork falls out. I give the instructions because it didn't come with any and it took me a while to figure out how easy this was. I wouldn't be without it. It was a present, but I've bought one for a friend and she loves it also.

Customer Review: Great little item
Summary: 5 Stars

Great item, works every time. Simple to use, push down button to remove cork from bottle & up button to get the cork out of the opener.
This opener will split some of the corks. (I don't save the corks) A wine bottle "stopper" is preferred anyway, if you save some for later.
The included charger works good and the unit holds a charge very well. I let mine set for several months & still had plenty of power
to open wine for Thanksgiving dinner. I bought mine over a year ago, and it still works great!
I like it so well that I bought another one for a xmas gift.

Customer Review: Love it!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had this opener for a little over a month now and love it. It's successfully extracted every cork we've given it, real and synthetic. We used to joke that if there was a screw cap bottle and a corked bottle in our wine fridge we'd tend to go for the screw cap because it was easier to open! When we got the Oster, we started regretting the screw caps because it was so much fun to use the Oster. The foil remover is also very nice, though since it's located behind the opener in the stand I sometimes forget to take the foil off first with it. Is that a criticism? Not really.
