Customer Review: Excellent product. Expect about a 750 bottle lifespan.

Well, we bought one of these babies three years ago. It replaced a "rabbit" opener that had bent and twisted its way out of our hearts and into the garbage can. The Oster was terrific! The best opener I've ever used. Unfortunately, three days ago, the poor guy expired. It can pull a cork but it won't expel it afterwards. We tried surgery (meaning I opened it up with a screwdriver and messed around inside to see if I could fix it) but had no luck.
We drink a bottle of wine a day. I figure 70% of the wines we drink come in corked bottles. So I'd guess that our Oster opened around 750 bottles for us over its three year life. At its $20 price, that works out to two and a half cents per bottle.
Five stars for simplicity of use and price. Three for durability. Which puts us at a four.
