Had a Kitchenaid blender with the plastic/rubber base for the spinner. The rubber pieces ground out one day making the blender useless.
This blender has a metal spinner and very sharp ice crunching blades on the inside of the bowl. I use it for smoothies with large frozen strawberries. My old Kitchenaid would still leave a couple boulders bouncing around in the smoothie. With this blender, I can even throw in some large ice cubes and it chews it all up perfectly and very quickly. It's very powerful. It has two speeds, but who cares. I love this blender!

Does a great job blending iced drinks. Easy to disassemble and clean (glass jar is dishwasher safe, everything else just needs a quick rinse under the faucet). Loud, but not unusually so for a blender. Much easier to deal with than the KitchenAid blender I've used in the past and better designed for crushing ice or frozen fruit.Love the classy retro look and the simple flip-switch.
My only quibble? The first one I bought developed rust on the blade after a single use (and yes, I'd dried it as carefully as possible). I exchanged it and the replacement is flawless.

I've been quite happy with my new blender. I was a little taken aback with the tower-of-chrome-power appearance when I first opened the package. I bought it sight unseen based on reviews I read on the net.
My most demanding task for the blender is puree-ing beef liver for dog treats that I make for Sophie the dog. My old blender died with a wisp of smoke in this task. The tower-of-chrome-power seems to handle this effortlessly. Its easy to clean. And sits imposingly on top of my refrigerator when not in use.
Good buy!

I just love this blender. I use a blender just about everyday.
Besides other uses I make fresh smoothies. It does a great job. I was a little concerned at first with only 2 speeds. These are the only 2 speeds you really need. For smoothies and blended drinks it it awesome.
The top for the blender is easy on & off. I keep my blender in my pantry and the design makes grabbing it a breeze. I love the light weight. I have owned many blenders and have paid high prices. This one has been the best one yet & the price is nice.

I've had many blenders over many years. This brand by far makes the best smoothies ever! I use ice cold water, protein powder and solidy frozen fruit. With other blenders I've always ended up with chunks even after I've given the fruit time to slightly thaw. What good is a frozen smoothie if it has to thaw first?! With my new Oster, there is no waiting, and all ingredients are smoothly blended with just a brief touch of the power switch. My Oster is so beautiful to look at, sometimes I just leave it sitting on the kitchen counter.
