I have used various Oster blenders for years. I have also used the Waring blender which is a little better but the replacement parts are less available and a lot more expensive. Oster has various blade options and various container options plus easily available and inexpensive replacement parts. To me the better choice is Oster and if it burns out just replace it. You can save the jar and the base as a spare. I have never used a blender in a commercial way but for me the Osters have been quite satisfactory for use in my own kitchen. The shape of the base of the glass jar on the Waring blender is like a four-leaf clover which gives a slightly superior blending action. Also the glass jar of the Waring blender is thicker and harder to break but if you do break it, the replacement cost is as high as a whole new Oster blender. You can't remove the jar from the base of the Waring blender to clean it or change jars like you can with the Oster. With time the blades on the Waring blender will get stiff and hard to turn but with a lot of persistence you can free them up with WD 40. With Oster the blades are cheap and easy to replace. Of course either one of them will do the job. I don't currently have a Waring blender but I've had the Oster Classic Beehive Blender for several years and have had no problem with it. I give it five stars because although it is not prefect, I feel it is the best available option. If I did buy a Waring blender, I would want it in addition to the Oster blender.
