Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Slap ChopCustomer Review: A pleasant surprise! Summary: 5 Stars
I found the slapchop to be a very pleasant surprise, exceeding all expectations for an item advertised on TV! The instruction sheet is a bit minimal, but after a little trial and error anybody can get the gadget assembled properly and from then on it works perfectly.
Customer Review: Excellent Product Summary: 5 Stars
This chopper is a clone of the highly successful Zeiss food chopper which Zeiss replaced with a new model. It does a wonderful job, is super easy to clean, and happens to be one of my favorite "can't-cook-without-it" kitchen tools.

Customer Review: COMMON SENSE dictates usage *****Comes apart to clean!! Summary: 4 Stars
Important part is this comes apart to clean! If you get it clean you can actually use it again without fear of molding. (Some pricer versions don't come apart--yucky)
I have read complaints on "stuck food in blades"...Hmmm, there is a video by Jack attached to this page. He seemed to have a caught in the blade problem until he remembered you slap hard and fast and multiple times...this displaces the food on the blades, while rotating blades to cut a different direction. Very expensive choppers use this same technology...and effort is on the part of person using their own arm that always seems to be the root of the problem. Remember this is Manual item and SLAP is part of name...harder quick slap is better than weak one time only.
SECOND HINT...I always remove skin of garlic by smashing it with side of my wide knife...remove skin and proceed with chopping of slap chop. This removal of skin should also be used for onion, plus you cannot put whole item in unit...it needs someplace to disperse to or empty areas around item being chopped so chopper works better. So with larger things like onions--I slice up a little or quarter it or large chunk it. Harder things like carrots need same pre-chunking. This does work great on nuts, or dice up fine celery. I have even used it on crackers, or croutons to make crumbs.
GIFT IDEA: I have weddings to go to...I buy this along with other basic kitchen items and put in basket with local grocery store gift card. Even if newlywed can't manage a knife very well they can slap chop items without too much practice.
Customer Review: Stop having a boring tuna! Summary: 4 Stars
I bought a Slap Chop mainly for kicks. I thought the commercial was amazing... as well as all the songs/remixes/YTPs that have surfaced because of it.
The Slap Chop is very convenient. Most who have reviewed the Slap Chop on Amazon sound like they aren't using it right. You literally "Slap" the device to get it going. You don't push it, you SLAP it. So far I have not had any trouble chopping up simple foods such as: onions, garlic, nuts, and even chicken thigh. Vince said, "The more you do it the finer it gets. You don't have to switch any blades!" He was right. So when I put the chicken in their I slapped it and got big chunks of chicken. I kept at it and it basically minced my chicken. Made a fantastic chicken sandwich...
For those who don't want to have to lug out the knives and cutting board and spend too much time cutting up simple foods, I recommend the Slap Chop. It took me forever to mince garlic with a typical knife and cutting board. The Slap Chop did it in under 10 seconds.
Very easy to clean too! Pops open like a butterfly to clean... I've cleaned this thing a number of times and have never had problems cleaning it.
You will love Vince's nuts after using the Slap Chop. I guarantee it.
