I ordered the Slap Chop even after seeing some of the reviews here, because friends have used it and love it. It just appears to me nobody's using the Slap Chop right. I made this mistake as well - the plastic piece that comes with it.. you're supposed to put that on the blade. You put that on the blade, then put the clear plastic piece on. That allows you to cut food without getting it stuck in the blade.
I've cut olives and tomatoes so far with it and I'm impressed. I love Vince's nuts, indeed!

This is the first kitchen aid that I have
Ever raved about or reviewed. It has literally changed my kitchen life. Now I can make complicated dishes involving lots of dicing like gumbo from scratch. I've had food processors big and small and they are so tiring to drag out of the cupboard and mess with, I gave them up. The slap chop isN't perfect but if you use real 'thrust' when you chop it works beautifully, cleans easily and fits in even small drawers. All this for under $20 too!

When I bought SlapChop one thing I didn't know is that it would be the most valuable tool in my kitchen! I don't know how I ever cooked without it. I had another chopper before but it was hard to clean and put back together. I make lots of soup and it chops the veggies in minutes. Yes you have to chop the pieces small enough to fit but it takes possibly two seconds to chop an onion, carrot or potato etc. small enough. Just slap the plunger don't force it!Customer Review: Great Item!

I really love the Slap Chop. And how great is the tv ad! I had another food chopper that was ok but impossible to clean so I never used it. I have used the Slap Chop so far for vegetables, fruits, and ice cream toppings and it works as advertised. Very easy to clean by just opening it up. Great item at a great price and fast shipping. I love my slap chop graty combo. not bad for the price, and it really does chop well. not so great with larger carrots, but they're hard for anything, even a knife, to chop up. the onion peel thing does actually work, not quite as well as in the commercial, but well enough!!!!! i highly recommend
