Customer Review: No driving pain!

Since I fell on my tail bone last year, I could find no relief for the pain, and dreaded driving (bucket seats do no justice to the tail bone!) I had to drive 1000 miles a few weeks ago, in a rental car, and bought the Seat Cushion based on positive reviews. I first tried it in my office chair with good results - it took a few days for the chemical smell to dissipate, though.
The rental car had a seat that you could lower, which helped, because the Seat Cushion really lifts you up (which is great for short-waisted drivers, but could be a big problem for taller folks.) But the real test was driving 500 straight miles with nothing more than a little sciatic annoyance when I arrived at the folk's. Before using this, I was pulling myself out of the seat and walking stooped and in pain for days after being in the car.
All and all, I don't go anywhere without the Seat Cushion now, although it's a bit of a strange feeling in my Subaru with its stationary height seat. The good: In using it for 30 days now, it still looks like new, has held it's shape, and I've stopped taking my pain meds. The bad: Could be unuseable in smaller, stationary car seats, in which case I'd go for a smaller, less expensive cushion.

I bought this cushion not for a tailbone problem but because I want to sit higher in the car seat so I can see better when I drive. Other cushions squish down so much they add no height but this one is firm enough to actually work. The cushion is 4" high in the back providing height where I sit but slopes to nearly nothing so I can still reach the pedals. The fabric cover fits the cushion very well unlike other cushions. I sit on the side with non-slip fabric, the side against the seat is vinyl. At first the hole for the tailbone felt uncomfortable but I got used to it quickly. This cushion is lightweight and easy to move around and it has a carry handle.
This cushion arrives in a very secure box and qualifies for free shipping. Do not make the mistake I made of trying other cushions from companies that charge for shipping. Buy this one and be happy sitting up high. I am!

Initially, I was suffering from an extremely painful hip (later diagnosed as deterioration of the head of the femur) and purchased one of these while in Florida. It really made sitting on hard surfaces much more comfortable. Then I sustained a greater than 65% compression fractured of my back (T-11) from Osteoporosis. I tried my Florida purchase for comfort in sitting and to add a little extra height that I lost in the fracture. It worked just perfect, and I wanted more, but could not locate any. When I found them on Amazon.com, I purchased an additional four so I would always have one where I needed it (Car, Desk, Sun Room dining, Dining Room and one to take along when eating out. They are super easy to keep clean, very portable, and easily blend in so you do not stand out when carrying it. I am totally thrilled that I now have all I need. I have had chronic tailbone pain for three years, feeling like a bruise that gets hit every time I sit or stand. I purchased this cushion in hope it would relieve my pain for a long trip from Central PA to the Outer Banks, NC. Day 1 was 5 hours in the car, Day 2 was 7 1/2 days, and by the time I got to NC, I was experiencing no pain in my tailbone. The return trip was over 12 hours long, with a few short breaks, and again, the cushion saved me from what otherwise would have been an agonizing trip. The cushion is not thick and for someone heavy, it might not provide enough lift. It also was not helpful for my work chair, I think because the padding on the chair gives too much. The cushion does work on the hard surface of a wooden chair, so how well it works seems to depend on the situation. I'm buying more!Customer Review: Instant Relief

Receiving this cushion provided instant relief. Yes, really! If you've ever suffered from coccyx pain, you know how miserable it is. I was unable to sit, or go from sitting to standing without terrible pain. I made my own cushion and then purchased 2 different types from Amazon. This one was perfect and the best of all. A real "aaaahhhh' moment. And after a week of use, my tailbone pain is subsiding. I worried the depth would be too low, but it is just fine, and the slope is perfect. It is larger than I expected: 13 1/2" x 17". It is black vinyl on one side and black suede or microfiber on the other to prevent slipping. The handle is useful. For me, the As Seen on TV Seat Solution is the solution.
