I am on my second One Touch Jar Opener. I broke the first one through no fault but my own. I replaced immediately it, because after using this gadget one time, I was sold on the product. I have medical problems with my hands, and this wonderful little machine makes jar opening an easy task. One push of the button, and the opener does the rest of the work. It automatically adjusts itself to fit all sizes of jars. I don't have to fiddle with adjustment buttons or dials. Simply center the opener on the lid, push the button on top of the gadget, and it does the rest of the work for you. The strength of the arms of the opener makes turning of any lid a snap. After running through one complete cycle, the automatically opener turns itself off. Hello open jar. Goodbye to pain free hands. I will never be without one again.Customer Review: Really Works! We bought the "OneTouch Jar Opener" as a gift for my mother since she was having problems opening jars due to arthritis. I was somewhat uncertain that this was going to be a long term solution since the unit does not look all that solid and it makes a lot of noise as it works, but it seems to be holding up well after a week of almost daily use.
We had bought the Black & Decker JW200B Lids Off Jar Opener, Black for my mother-in-law a year or two ago and that worked well, but took up too much counter space for my mother's house.

Contrary to some of the other reviews posted I have had and regularly used this "gizmo" for three years. There are two considerations. The first is a no brainer: the jar must be clean and dry to allow the gizmo's grippers to get a good grip on the jar. The second consideration is that the jar must be rigid. The device does not work on plastic jars that are not rigid. As one reviewer observed, sometimes it helps to tap the edge of the jars lid on a hard surface to help break the seal. Taking these into consideration, in my experience it has never met a jar it couldn't open. It's a great helper for folks who do not have two strong hands.Customer Review: One Touch Jar Lid Opener

The OneTouch Jar Lid Opener is one product that will do what the advertisement says it will. It is really great for opening jar lids like you find on pickle jars, etc. but will open other kinds of tops, too. It is very strong and durable. I broke my first one because I failed to see and remove all of the packaging on a jar of pickles. It opened the jar lid but broke in the process. I use to have to open these jar lids by hitting a knife or some other object against the lid.

Customer Review: PICKLE JARS NO LONGER GEEZER-PROOF!

For the past several years I have noticed opening new jars of pickles, jam, jelly--anything--kept getting more and more difficult. Then my wife and I saw this gadget on television, and I knew we needed to get one. Well, time slips away when you're not looking, but finally we got one, and jars in our house are no longer geezer-proof (I can say that, I am one). It works great, so great that I wanted to open every new jar in the house, but my wife said if I did I would have to go to bed without supper. But I've got to tell you, this appliance is a great addition to our kitchen. Thank you, Amazon.com!
