Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of OneTouch Can OpenerCustomer Review: The Greatest fpr arthrritic hands Summary: 5 Stars
This can opener had good details on the package to let me know what I was buying and by looking at and reading the package information felt confident this was a product I could use. Other than electric can openers I had trouble using can openers as I have arthirits and they do not make the electric one. This can opener is so easy to use and does all that the advertisement says it will. Just put it on the can and it does the rest. I have had one for some time and ordered two more as did not want to ever be with out one and they are hard to find, fact is, nearly impossibe to find in a store. I bought one for my sister and my daughter who has MS. Just cannot say enough good things about this product and hope it is never taken off the market. It is nearly indestrutable as tried it on a pull top, for which it was not intended, and even though it hung up, was able to get it off and it is still running as smoothly as when new. It is so easy to use and does not take a rocket scientist to put in batteries and then to put it to use. I have not used any other since purchising mine and it is still going like new.
Thank you so much who ever invented this.
Customer Review: A Great Product! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this item at a home products store because I had heard about it but never seen one. I am a stroke survivor with the use of only one hand so even the usual powered can opener is extremely difficult for me to use. This product however is great. Simply put the can to be opened on a flat surface, put the opener on the top of the can making sure to seat the turning gear next to the flanged edge of the can and push the one touch button. The opener turns itself through 360 degrees on the can lid separating the lid from the edge of the can without any sharp edges. The magnet on the opener allows the can lid to be lifted off with the opener. My first opener disappeared during a move so I promptly replaced it . Both units have operated flawlessly and have never met a food can they couldn't open. The only problem I have had is opening the battery compartment to change the batteries since I have the use of only one hand. Since the opener shuts itself off after making it's 360 degree journey around the top of the can quality batteries last several months so this is not that big a deal
Customer Review: balancing the negative reviews Summary: 5 Stars
I have never written a review of a product before but, since I'm planning to purchase the OneTouch for a friend and after reading all the negative reviews, I wanted to provide some balance. My sister gave me this can opener last December as she had two of them. It opens cans and gives me a chuckle every time I use it as it vibrates itself around the top of the can. It does leave a sharp edge around the top of the can just as any other type of can opener leaves a sharp-edged lid. One just has to be careful since it's sort of a no-brainer that cutting a lid off a metal can will give you sharp edges in one way or another. I've had no problem with batteries, in fact, I've not replaced them since I got the opener last December. A note here, however, is that I don't open a lot of cans (probably one or two a week) as I don't eat much canned food. This can opener is small and fits conveniently in a drawer, requires no use of sensitive fingers or wrists, and, for me, works very efficiently. I hope this review helps others make a decision about whether or not to purchase.
Customer Review: Money Well Spent Summary: 5 Stars
I received the can and jar opener as a gift from my dad. I have very limited use of my left hand, making it difficult to use a regular can opener. In addition, I am wheelchair-bound so it is not always easy to reach the counter or stand while using a regular can opener. The One Touch solved my problem. I don't have to do much, just place the can opener on top of a can and press a button. No need to worry about the sharp edges, seen with a regular can opener, because the One Touch cuts below the lid. Once in awhile I need to hit the reset button, located to the left of the cutter, but that is it. The jar opener is useful as well. I don't have to apply as much strength and I can open jars and bottles of all sizes. I would recommend this product, along with the jar opener, for people with limited use of their arms; espcially those with arthritis. This product can be found everywhere, Walgreens, Target, etc., and costs approximately $20.
Customer Review: Turning The Cans Summary: 5 Stars
There are so many who use the needs of an actual can opener from soup to canned carrots. While you keep turning those cans, you lose your control in your hand. With the one touch can opener, it is easy, and simple to operate. All it takes is the push of the black button on top, and it automatically opens your cans without the burden of hurting your hands. It is very convient, and opens any kind of can that you need to use. All it takes are two AA batteries installed into the can opener, and you can open your cans all the time, easily and conviently. My mother and I each have a difficult time opening all kinds of cans, and my mother has multiple sclerosis. Now, she doesn't have a difficult time opening those cans. I really love this great one touch can opener a lot, and you'll love it a lot too.
