Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Omega 4000 Stainless-Steel 1/3-HP Continuous Pulp-Ejection JuicerCustomer Review: juicer first-time user Summary: 4 Stars
I like this juicer, but it could be improved. First, the information booklet is not well-written and it is difficult to read and figure out how to assemble and disassemble. Once you figure out how to do it, it is easy. Additionally, more recipes could have been included. Second, the spout is low and you have to find something of a low height to catch the juice. I also found that carrot juice stained the interior the first time I used it, even though I washed it according to directions immediately.
Customer Review: Get Juiced! Summary: 4 Stars
Great juicer! It's easy to use, easy to clean w/ disessembley and reessembley. It's a good product for the money.
Customer Review: Not A Bad Juicer. A Little Overpriced. Summary: 3 Stars
I got this juicer about a month ago, and I have been enjoying a fresh-squeezed juice ever since.
Having read all the great reviews here, I was a little disappointed with the fact that the pulp that comes out of it is far from being dry. In fact, it makes sense to throw that pulp back in to get some more juice out of it. For a "professional grade machine", I expected better performance in this area.
The chute for throwing in the fruits/veggies is a little small. If you think about throwing in a whole apple, forget about it. It has to be split at least in 4 to get in.
I found that the juicer's ejection tunnel gets clogged up with pulp fairly easily, so you often have to stop and clean it in up in order to continue to juice efficiently.
Important note about 15-year warranty. It's only for motor. All other parts carry 1-year warranty.
The machine is fairly loud, but that's what you expect of most juice extractors.
Cleaning is easy except for the strainer. It takes a bit more work and it is recommended to leave it for a while in soapy water before cleaning.
I like the fact that it's made in U.S.A., in fact it is "Made in U.S.A with pride". :)
* Update Nov 5, 2004*
Someone noted that my statement about warranty is incorrect. Here's an exerpt from the product manual:
"...The Basket and Blade assembly is warranted for one (1) year. Plastic parts warped due to high heat will not be covered under the warranty. This warranty does not cover breakage of any part in shipment or damage cause by misuse.
A service charge of $10.00 must accompany any unit over one (1) year old..."
If you remove "The Basket and Blade assembly" from the product, the only remaining part is the motor assembly. Hence, this is the only part that is warranted for fifteen (15) years.
Customer Review: I have owned this machine for 4 years now Summary: 3 Stars
While I believe this machine has a good motor, there are several problems that they need to correct on it.
Almost as soon as I got it, the plastic handle broke the tab that holds the juicer on. My friend got one on my
recommendation and part the plastic handle broke on hers as well. The plastic seems brittle and not the quality it should be.
The pulp ejector gets clogged frequently
It gets "off balance" occasionally which is annoying. You have to stop, clean out the basket and put it back together to get it going again.
When my friend sent her machine back to them...they sent it back again, but this time it actually had another problem that it didn't have when she sent it! Another part of the handle was broken. The customer service WAS apologetic though and did eventually make it right but it was a hassle.
What I like about it is that I think it makes juice well and the pulp that comes out seems quite dry.
I've been reading reviews on all kinds of machines and I'm not sure you can buy a fool proof juicer, just buy one with the least problems...
Customer Review: Average Juicer Summary: 3 Stars
This is my first juicer. Based on no expectations, here are my problems with this machine: chute is small, the juice shoots out of the top before you can even put your hand over it, the pulp is still wet, I kept getting chunks of fruit ejected, I had juice all over the counter instead of in the glass, it didn't give me the amount of juice that the recipe called for. I also thought the juice spout was low and you did not get a glass to catch the juice.
While cleaning wasn't too bad, it was a hassle unscrewing the nut that holds the basket in. A simple brush cleans it quite well - however, a brush is NOT provided. I personally thought the machine was relatively quiet.
I did buy this from CanningPantry.com - BIG MISTAKE - due to the problems listed above I contacted them for a return. Only to find out that their 100% guarentee is a lie. Once they found out I used it one time they refused to contact me or discuss it's return. Do yourself a favor and NEVER BUY FROM canningpantry.com.
