I gave up on eating pizza that had a perfectly cooked crust and that wasn't overcooked until I purchased this pizza stone. Its the perfect size to make a 12-14 inch pizza. All you need to do is preheat the oven to 500F with the stone in the oven and leave it in the oven for a further 15+ minutes. Slide the pizza onto the stone and voila! The result is crispy pizza that is done in 10 minutes. Old stone has redeemed my hope in a restaurant style pizza made at home :) One of my best purchases ever and at $13.99 its a steal!

I took a chance, considering reviews and it worked out for me. My baking stone was received in full working order, no chips or cracks. The stone was shipped in a box within a box that was filled with the styrofoam peanuts. (I wish it had been a little more environmental, but, baby steps I suppose)
I did not have any trouble with chemical smells or a sandy-feeling stone. Everything I read about was, for me, unfounded.
The bread I made with this was absolutely delicious. I am quite happy!

own this stone. It makes excellent pizza, put stone in oven, set oven for 500 degrees,once oven it at temp. turn down to 450 and put your pizza in.
Set timer for 8-10 mins. for thin crust. You will love it!!!

My stone arrived double-boxed, and the outer box was huge! So it arrived in perfect condition.
So far, it's made excellent bread! It's a little thicker (which is great!) than our previous round stone, and overall, the extra room makes baking a lot easier. It is, obviously, a little more cumbersome to get it out of the oven to brush off cornmeal and flour, but the extra cooking space is worth it.
The quality of the stone is top-notch and the bread it produces is wonderful. I love it!

A baking stone is essential for the kitchen. It keeps the cavity at an even temp even if you are opening and closing the door. I preheat the oven for at least twenty minutes to ensure that the stone comes up to temperature. I put mine usually on the very bottom of the oven directly over the heat source. I find that pies and pastries come out with a much crisper bottom because of this. It is very useful for making all kinds of bread and rolls. This is a good size for my oven. It is a lifetime investment.
