I purchased the green Orka Wine Pourer and Stopper for a recent wine party, and based on its performance I'm giving it 4 stars.
The design is trendy and attractive, with several colour offerings, all with silver "flip top" stoppers. The stopper is a rubber gasket that seals the pourer when you flip the silver lever. To open and pour it's another quick flip.
The pouring speed is the most important thing for me. With a red wine I want some nice aeration during the pour, and I don't want the wine to come out too fast, especially for a tasting party. This pourer sends out just the right amount of wine with no splash into the glass.
It really is that simple. Just like a normal stopper you shove it into the bottle (make sure you have a nice tight fit to prevent leakage). The only thing you might be concerned about is if you do not finish the entire bottle in a sitting (but who would do that?). Since this stopper is NOT a vacuum seal, if you set the wine out for another day you do run the risk of losing the wine. My recommendation is that if you aren't going to finish the bottle, replace this stopper with a vacuum variety to make sure the wine doesn't go bad.
Enjoy these stoppers, which are dishwasher (top rack) safe, and very attractive.
