Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Knifty Knitter Long Loom Set, Pack of 4Customer Review: Great idea, but poorly constructed. Summary: 3 Stars
I bought the Knifty Knitter Long Loom Set today after spending a few days trying to learn to knit with needles. I am a new stay-at-home Mom and needle knitting takes more concentration than I have with a 7 month old around.
The Knifty Knitter takes far less concentration and I am far less worried about losing a stitch if I need to set it down. As I am new to knitting I thought that there would be far better instructions. The instructions are great if you only want to make one thing and only one type of stitch. I had no idea which loom to use for the project I wanted to work on or even what kind of yarn would be best for it.
To make matters worse one of the pegs fell off one of the looms while I was taking them out of the box. Luckily I found the peg before I even knew what it was. Now 4 hours later a peg has fallen of the loom I was using. These pegs are small and now I can't find it. My biggest concern is that they are most certainly a choking hazard for small children. So, not only am I not able to work on my project, but I am fearful for the safety of my child!
Customer Review: cheaply made Summary: 3 Stars
I had bought a single knifty knitter that I did really well with. It was sturdy and fun. I then bought this set and found that the pegs are smaller and thinner than on the other one. Some were loose and moved when I wrapped the yarn and had to be pushed back into the hole. The loom also became concave in the middle halfway through a project. The stitches in the middle were shorter than those on the end. Great concept and easy to use but poorly made. I am looking for a solid wood/nail pegged loom.
Customer Review: Ben Franklin as a vendor Summary: 3 Stars
The loom is hard plastic and completely consistent with expectations. I bought thru Ben Franklin Stores and was totally SHOCKED at the shipping fees - I could have bought the looms for the cost os shipping! There were two products on my order (one from another vendor) and it cost what the shipping did so I didn't notice the cost until the order was confirmed. Live and learn and don't buy from Franklin
Customer Review: Needs Better Directions Summary: 3 Stars
I bought the long loom set so that I could make an afghan. The instructions that come in the box only tell you how to make a scarf so that was pretty disappointing, I will have to go find a book that tells you how to make a afghan. Even their website lists all projects but afghans. I am really looking forward to using my looms set.
Customer Review: Knifty Knitter Long Looms Summary: 3 Stars
I really love my round Knifty Knitter looms. I like the long looms ok, but I wish they had made the pegs longer, like they are on the round ones. They are really short & it's harder to pull the yarn up over the loops without pulling the whole stitch off.
