Customer Review: Easy Peezy - pass the yarn - perfect for beginners and young kiddos

What seems like a lifetime ago, my grandmother taught me to crochet. I would spend hours and create a lopsided doily. More recently, I purchased a book on knitting, a set of hooks, and spent hours and created a lopsided doily. I picked these up, spent about four hours, and created two beautiful scarfs (despite the daughter disagreeing about my color choice) only using the included directions (which are sparse and only for a scarf).
So easy a four year old can practically do it on her own! There's my sales pitch - very easy and actually works. Free patterns with directions can be found on Provocraft's website or from robertscrafts dot com.
The smallest size is appropriate for an adult sized scarf. I used about 2/3rds the loom length for a youngster's scarf. The largest size would be good for a crib blanket without making separate panels.

I just recently got the Knifty Knitter round loom set. And after only a few items made on those, I ordered this long loom set.
I am already so addicted to looming. It is so easy, and so much fun, and so FAST! I have completed several items in a very few weeks. And they all look great. This is one craft I can see using for a very long time. If you have ever despaired of needle knitting, have dexterity issues, or just want a much faster way to make items for family and friends, looming is for you.
Already I have completed a great scarf on one of these long looms. I plan on being very warm this winter!

I am a knitter and a crocheter and never seriously considered these looms. Well, I am addicted to them now. They offer the same repetition and calming as knitting/crocheting. However, making hats and scarves are so FAST. I can make a double knit (and add to that 2-strands at the same time) beautiful scarf or hat in about 2 hrs (or a few Dateline shows I've Tivo'd). Less stress on hands and wrists.
Just remember to keep it simple and don't read into the directions which are just schematics.

I was looking at the Knifty knitter long loom kit for a few months before I actually bought it, now I have had it a week, and wish I had bought it sooner!
I have made 5 scarves..3 with fun fur...in 1 week!!
I am now making an Afgan using the honeycomb stitch, and it looks beautiful.
I would recomend looking on 'you tube' there are lots of helpful videos showing how to do different stitches etc.

I am the Knifty Knitter's #1 fan. Every project has turned out beautifully. I purchased the instructional booklet that Knifty Knitter sells seperatly, and it has made all the difference. This product is really fun and easy to use, but I suggest buying the seperate instructional booklet (availiable at Amazon.com or WalMart).
