This is a nice solid lamp. You can put up to a 60w bulb in it which is very bright. The base has a AC outlet built in that I have found handy. The lamp is nice and tall.
I don't know what the problem was with the other reviews here saying that the lamp wont stand up. My lamp stands up fine. There is a screw at the joint, perhaps this screw came loose on some of the lamps.
Overall I am pleased with this lamp.

This is a great lamp. Larger (almost 2ft in height and 8in diameter at the base) and heavier(8lbs) than i expected. Its made of silver aluminum though out. the lamp swivels at the base and at its head with side swivel also. The added plus is the socket located at the base. Its convenient for plugging in chargers (cell phone ipod ect). Great price and fast shipping, and it even qualifies for amazon prime.Customer Review: Tall desk lamp

This is a really nice looking desk lamp and very functional. The brushed steel gives it a more expensive look than the reasonable price I paid on Amazon. I like the broad light that is cast from the tall frame, and the extra power outlet is very handy to have on top of the desk. This is an extremely elegant brushed steel desk lamp that compliments my desk very well. I've yet to encounter any issues with the hinges as others have experienced. I was looking for a lamp with a nice weight to the base and that is what I got. It does not move around at all. It adjusts up and down very easily and the extra electrical outlet is very handy. I am very pleased with this purchase.
