This lid worked well for about 2 months, then when I picked it up to put it away after washing it a day earlier, the plastic near the knob for the steam vent spontaneously cracked into 3 pieces and fell to the floor. I'm kinda disappointed - without a way to control the steam, the knob becomes as hot as the metal itself. What I did like about this lid is that it is not flat (i.e. if the food in your pan is a bit higher than the top of the pan when its uncooked, this lid will still fit without mashing the food). Ah well, you win some, you lose some....time to find a new lid.Customer Review: ok, but not too impressed

I found the metal on the lid to be adequate quality, but the knob is plastic...and cheap plastic at that. The main reason I know this is because when it arrived, it was already broken in half! So, if you are hard on your pans (in the shove-them-in-the-cabinet way that I am), you might want to look for a sturdier product. (To Amazon's credit, I returned it, and they did pay the return shipping for it)Customer Review: Good for the money!

I purchased 4 of these lids as holiday gifts and upon inspection, promptly returned them. First, the packaging was horrible. Amazon had put the lids in a huge box with almost no protection and ALL of the lids arrived scratched. Unfortunately, even if they had been well packed, the quality of the lids was very poor. I believe that in life, you get what you pay for, but this was a rip-off. The quality was so cheap - two of the plastic handles were broken and jammed and the other two looked like they wouldn't last either. This is the kind of low-quality product you would expect to find at the 99 cent store... even then, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't buy them. Don't waste your time/money.
