I wasn't sure if this would work that well but after reading the reviews I thought I'd give it a try. I am EXTREMELY impressed. I've tried other products that help somewhat but don't totally stop all of our 6 cats. Some cats just have a way of figuring how to leave a urine spot. This product's effectiveness seems to be the shock effect of an instant 'spray mist' and sound (of the spray) that evokes the cat's primal fight or flight mode and in this case it is ALWAYS the flight mode in our house.
OBSERVATIONS:
1. I have set off the spray myself 9 out of 10 times - not the cats! The bottle has a wide view for motion detection so I had to turn the bottle to face directly into the area to avoid.
2. Once the contents of the bottle is exhausted, it will still put out a softer spray sound and small 'puff' of air that seems to have the same effect on all of our cats.
3. It is a little tough putting the 'topper' (sprayer) on the top of the bottle. Someone with arthritis may need a little help. I'm still on my first bottle so maybe it will become easier over time.

This is a marvelous product, and entertaining, too! I have had a years-long problem with my indoor cats peeing in inappropriate places, and had tried everything to break them of it.
Well, the day the Ssscat arrived, I set it up on top of the microwave oven in my kitchen (a frequent target), and went off to bed. Before I'd even had a chance to doze off... "Crash", "Bang", and the sound of a cat shifting from impulse to warp drive.
When I went out to see what had happened, I was met with venomous glares, a Ssscat canister which had been knocked out of position, and a CLEAN microwave oven.
I LOVE this product, and the neat thing is... if you order it with the six spare canisters, you can set the canisters on other potential targets, and the kitties will avoid those, too! Thank you Ssscat :-)

Scccat spray works very well and I am satisfied. The original model when it first came out had several huge problems but the current version on the market is very good. I miss the audible warning that was part of the original model, but the downside is that it drained the batteries in 2 weeks, so this is way better; batteries last a long time on the current model. Price in the USA through Amazon is half what you'd pay in Canada, so even though it may seem expensive, it's a pretty good deal as far as I am concerned. I use it primarily to keep the cats from going in an area in the house or scratching a door. Sometimes when we have guests over the cats would scratch at the guest bedroom door and this will keep em away and guarantee a good night's sleep for everyone.Customer Review: Product works well. Refills are over-priced...use computer duster cans instead.

This product works well. It keeps one dog and three cats out of a room which the cats have claimed as their new litterbox. It's a great idea.
However, the refills cost (gulp), $8 - $12 for a 4.5oz can of compressed air...yikes, complete total ripoff.
Ours uses a can in about two weeks, so that's not cheap.
Instead, a 10oz computer-duster can costs around $3 and works even better. Plus you can get those at any local store, so no need to pay shipping. Here on Amazon, Circuit City sells a two-pack of 10oz dusters for $5.99 plus shipping.
The little 4.5 oz cans can fall over on thick carpet, but not the bigger cans. You just carefully pop the top off the duster can, and pop it onto the SSSCAT unit.

I purchased this product awhile ago, and I am buying another, as I dropped it (numerous times) and finally broke it. I bought it not for a cat but for my 112 pound dog who likes to get into the trash. This is why he is 112 lbs. It works great! He would not go near the trash can or come into the kitchen when it was on. I saw a similar product on the show "Its Me or the Dog" on Animal Planet, and just had to try it, but it was only listed under cats not dogs, hopefully this finds a way to dog owners on their last straw.
