I use this pot every day, I love it. I don't use the top on it, I just don't wander too far away while it's heating up and I can see when it starts to boil. The top (plastic) has slightly melted once, so I don't like using it. Maybe my burner is too hot for it or something. But this pot is great. It's so thin, yet very durable. When it needs it, I just put about 1/4 cup of white vinegar in it and some water, swish it around, and it comes out crystal clean without chemicals. I am a daily tea drinker, and it is important for me to have clean, good water for my tea. I often drink white and green tea. I have used other kettles, but after awhile you can never get them clean. The glass kettle is perfect. And I really like being able to see the water in the kettle. It does take longer to heat up the water, because I use a smaller flame than I did with my other kettles, but I don't find this to be a problem. It is hard enough to find a glass tea kettle, but one that calls you when it is ready?, never thought it could be. Love it, have had it about a year. It does not steam your hand, or dribble, a very polite pot. When hard water builds up minerals on it, it has no objection to being rinsed with vinegar. It is quite egoless, it does not leave a taste of itself in your water. If it breaks I will just buy another as it is inexpensive (I have spent over $100 for pretty, nonfunctional ones.)Customer Review: I just love this teakettle!

This kettle is great! I no longer have to worry about what the inside of the kettle is lined with - glass is clean and toxin-free. I use it on low-medium heat, and don't leave it sitting there boiling away. The whistle isn't real loud, but I'm hearing impaired and I can still hear it from another room. Since I drink MANY cups of tea a day, this kettle is getting lots of use. I hope it holds up over the long term, because I really like it a lot. Although I do not even drink tea, my tea kettle is used on a daily basis for french pressed coffee. I like being able to see the level of water in the kettle. It is nice to be able to see when it is getting ready to boil, before you actually hear it. The whistle on this kettle is not as loud as some and if you were in another room you probably would not hear it. That is not a problem for me. I like that I can see how clean it is vs a metal tea kettle. All around good purchase.
