The glass whistling teapot is great. We love it because the glass is not so thick that it takes forever for the water to boil but thick enough that you don't feel it is "fragile". Water boiled in the glass teapots tastes much better than those in ceramic or aluminum/stainless steel plus you can see how much water you have left and don't have to guess. The whistle feature is very good as I tend to walk out of the room for awhile and the whistle alerts me that it is time to take the pot off the burner. Being a 12 cup pot is also very handy as some pots are very small and you have to keep filling them up. This glass stovetop kettle definitely shows intelligent design, particularly with the handle and "whistling" stopper. Although those parts are plastic, they are designed in a way to keep them functional for a long time. For example, the handle is curved far enough away from the glass bowl that you won't burn your knuckles picking up when hot, nor will the handle get scorched or melted by heat from an open flame--it stays well away from that, which is very much appreciated. The stopper has a high-curved handle as well, making it easy to lift off the kettle for pouring. Definitely recommend this product for its usefulness and probable long life.Customer Review: AWSOME!

This kettle is exactly what we were looking for. I cannot tell you how many times we have used this, but it is more than 100 times since purchase. This tea pot is very easy to clean inside and out. The plastic handle and lid are very sturdy. The plastic does not become soft from the heat. I have not burned my fingers when removing the lid by the hook. Just don't touch the whistle hole, that is very hot. We have a gas stove so I am not sure if it would survive on an electric stove so make sure you read the description on Amazon. I may order this for a Christmas gift. Great product that will last a long time. Worth every penny!Customer Review: How can something so good be so inexpensive?

Medelco 12 Cup Glass Stovetop Whistling Tea Kettle I've been looking for a tea kettle (coffee kettle?) to get the morning coffee brewing....and all I could find was the usual stainless steel one where you couldn't see all the crud that's building up. Then...in a flash...there it was....a great looking glass one....that whistled so my water woudln't boil out while I was doing something else....and it was under ten bucks! holy moley! I searched around for a long time looking for the perfect stove-top glass kettle. I definitely found the one with this Medelco Tea Kettle. It's perfect for my electric stove. It heats the water up very quickly, I don't even use the whistle top on it, I just check in on it from time to time. It is true that the handle does get warm pretty quickly, and it will get hot if you keep the water on boil all the way, but once you are aware of this, it's easy to get around. Just use an oven mitt or towel when picking it up off the stove. When it comes down to it, this kettle was exactly what I was looking for, and I am 100% satisfied.
