Customer Review: Bright, but motion sensor range too short.
Summary: 3 Stars
The 5 LEDs give off a surprisingly bright amount of light. However, this device's motion sensor works only at short distances, about 3 feet, and you have to be pretty much in front of the unit to set off the motion sensor. It does not turn on if there is light in the room, as described. Due to it's motion sensor limitations I was not able to use it in the dark stairway I had purchased it for. I recommend lights with longer range motion sensors, for example the Sentina uMax Motion-Sensor LED Light by TELEDEX INC, its motion sensor works at 8+ feet. I am keeping the unit only because the manufacturer does not refund shipping costs, I do not recommend it.
Description of Maxxima 5 LED Occupancy Sensor Light (Black)
Maxxima introduces the MLS-05B occupancy sensor light. The battery operated MLS-05B automatically turns itself on when motion is detected by the built in sensor and turns itself off around 30 seconds after you leave the area. Dusk to dawn sensor prevents daylight activation. The MLS-05B also has the option of being left on at all times with its manual override switch. This is a perfect item to be kept in a closet, bathroom, or any space which requires lighting. With its occupancy sensor you can set the light to automatically go on when it detects motion at night. This model is an upgrade to our original model the MLS-03 which has 3 LEDs in it.Kitchen and Housewares
