I use this filter along with the Watts 500315 Counter-Top Drinking Water Filter unit and it works great. Water tastes like it's bottled and I can tell when the filter is at it's life's end as the water begins to taste like it's right out of the tap, no filter, which has a pond water characteristic and cues you that something isn't quite right. I live in a old mining town and after three months is up I look at the filter and think to myself, "I'm glad that stuff went through the filter and not through me!" as the filter is orange at the expiration. This is a low-cost water filter solution and beats buying expensive bottled water from the store and is about the same cost as Brita filters, but no pitcher to wash.
