Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Mario Batali Panini Pan Scraper, Persimmon

Customer Review: The downside of a great pan
Summary: 5 Stars

I received a panini pan--something I had been wanting for a long time--as a gift. After the first use, I had a heck of a time cleaning it. I was really happy to stumble on this tool. I have flat scrapers that I use for cleaning baking stones, so I knew it could work. It does. It's still best to soak the pan first, but this 'scoops the goop' that is loosened by the soak nicely. The only thing that would make it better would be if it did the cleaning without my help :).

Customer Review: does exactl y what it says it does
Summary: 4 Stars

I've used this a couple time. It does a good job of cleaning the panini press. I'm not sure how long it will last. But it was cheap...

Customer Review: Good product, but doesn't fit all grills
Summary: 3 Stars

Good idea, good product, inexpensive enough, but it doesn't fit my Breville Grill - not even close, so be prepared for that it might not work for your press. Not sure what they were thinking when they glued the label to the scrapper, it took a generous application of Goo-Gone and 5 minutes to get the adhesive off

Customer Review: Pan Scraper - Mario Batali Panini
Summary: 3 Stars

I can't seem to get the hang of the panini pan and thought that the least I could do would be to keep it clean--hence, the scraper. Panini pan: fine, but not easy for me to use; Scraper: fine, and I seem to have scraper operation down pat.

Customer Review: Little Gadget with some problems
Summary: 2 Stars

This very small but useful product was covered on both sides with an extremely sticky label, which would not come off even with nail polish remover. Although only about 2.5"x3" and weighing about 1 oz., it was shipped in a cardboard box 10"x12" in size, filled with plastic air pillows. Very wasteful packaging. The ease of cleaning my panini grill without pushing a paper towel up each trough sounded nice, but this was definitely not worth $5 plus shipping and handling. I would have thought Mario Batali would consider his endorsements more carefully.
