I purchased the Margaritaville DM2000 for a friend because I have the same one and I truly think that it is the best machine for the price. I paid about $100.00 more at another store. Amazon had it priced more affordable. The reason I purchased the DM2000 because it has metal instead of plastic piece that turns the blade on the bottom of the unit & inside the ice unit. Also you can mix different types of drinks (ritas, daiquiri, smoothies) and you can select the number of drinks you want to prepare. It is definetly worth the extra money for the extra functions. This machine is such a crowd pleaser that I understand why they offer a travel bag. Everyone is amazed by how easy it is to crank out drinks though a bit deaf from its sound. I have used all the settings and made a lot of different drinks. Since it is shaving ice based on an expected quantity of liquid, I have a mixing glass marked for the various drinks and quantities so that I can easily play with different formulas and always have the correct liquid/ice ratio. If there is a downside to this ease, it is the weight you can pack on from drinking a bunch of calorie rich drinks. Highly recommended.Customer Review: DM 2000 Fiji, Great Rita machine

This machine is a Hoot! Makes excellent drinks and fast. When we had our first party with it I made up three 1/2 gallon(about 20 drinks each) containers of mixings according to the recipe enclosed with the machine. Dump 13-15 ounces of hooch in the pitcher and push the button, Wala, 36 ounces of PERFECT Margarittas in under a minute.
I orderd mine at Red's Gear for $249.00 + $20.00 shipping. If you hunt around you can find a rebate coupon for a free plastic pitcher. If you like Ritas and like to party this is for you, well worth the 300 or so dollars

Totally awesome Margarita maker, and very durable. The premium maker is worth the extra money over the other maker made by this company due to a much smoother consistancy. Two friends of mine own the lesser valued maker and the ice isn't crushed as fine as this maker produces, also there are more feature with this machine and a better motor. If you are a Margarita drinker or have kids that love slushies (as I do) it will get it's use and hey you'll have very happy kids to boot. Been eying this machine for a while but could never quite justify the cost. Lo and behold I received it as a perfect gift! While the price is high, this Concoction Maker does turn out perfect drinks! In the hot summer here in Vegas this machine will definitely be put through its paces, but judging from early results this baby will be rendering lots of frozen concoctions that will help me hang on.
If you can afford to splurge this is definitely the blender to get!
