Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Margaritaville DM2000 Premium Frozen Concoction MakerCustomer Review: great concoction maker Summary: 5 Stars
I ordered this as a christmas gift to myself ,from my husband. He could not understand why a regular blender was not good enough to make my frozen party drinks. On New Year's eve I brought this party blender out and mixed up all kinds of frozen drinks. Guess who was first in line to try this out? Yeah, my husband, he had to push his way right in front of me to try this fun party blender. It was a huge hit at our house, we placed it on the center island in our kitchen and everyone stood around to watch it create these wonderful frozen adult treats! We made mudslides, margarittas, daiquris, and frozen rum runners. It was a blast, and this thing makes them to perfection. I always wanted a blender that does the job of the machines behind the counter of bartenders! This model is more expensive than some of the other models, but I see it as an investment of years of entertaiment for myself and friends. I cannot wait to summer time where I know for sure it will be a neigborhood sensation! Very easy to use, looks fantastic, well made, and also creates great fruit smoothies for the consumers under the age of 21.
Customer Review: The Mother of All Drink Machines Summary: 5 Stars
In the quest for the perfect margarita, I've purchased 7 different machines in the past couple of years. The results range from pretty bad to decent. Even with the rental type slushy machines you have to put up with the nasty, syrupy sweet "mix" of chemicals. First batch out of this whomping big drinkerator was perfect. I was a little skeptical, even with very good reviews, that this thing would work as advertised. I do only get two batches out of this thing with the reservoir filled, but I just have a separate ice bucket to "pre-melt" the ice for the subsequent batches. I tried just about everything I could think of to throw the machine a curve, and it just kept making perfect drinks. Just keep in mind the liquid proportions in the drinks you make. As long as you end up with the right amount of liquid, you can make about anything you want and it will turn out right. And you can skip the pre-made mix and use just fresh ingredients. Thanks, Margaritaville (I mean, Cheers!).
Customer Review: Great machine Summary: 5 Stars
The machine is nice looking, and works great. My only complaint is the plastic part that covers the power cord is flimsy and for $350 plus it shouldn't be. Other than that, I am very happy with the great drinks it makes, it takes a few times to master how much mix and ice go it for perfection as no one is going to measure everything out when your having a party, but practice makes perfect. I learned
1. If you put too much liquid in and it comes out too watery, all you need to do is hit the "shave ice" only lever, and it will add more ice and blend.
2. There is NEVER enough liquor in the mixes, like Friday's Margarita's etc... you have to add extra liquor or it has no kick at all.
The machine blends the mixture and the liquor in the blender, then shaves ice and drops it in to the blender, then mixes it all up, adds more shaved ice, mixes it up and WALA great frozen drinks!!
Love my Margaritaville Frozen Concoction Maker!!!
Customer Review: Restaurant Style Margarita's @ Home Summary: 5 Stars
I have been browsing margarita machines for almost a year now. I was originally going to order the $3000 restaurant style margarita machine until I came across the great reviews for this machine. I was skeptical that a blender would be able to create the consistency you find in a restaurant margarita, but I ordered it anyways. After it arrived, I de-boxed it and made room for it on my counter. I am not a big fan of things on my counter tops but this is such an awesome looking appliance and a real conversation starter that I decided to keep it there. I got right to making margaritas and I was AMAZED at the quality of margaritas it made. You would never know your margarita wasn't from a restaurant. The machine comes apart easily for cleaning. If you like making margaritas at home, you MUST buy this thing. You won't be disappointed. Huge bonus, Amazon sells it for $100 less than anywhere else. Don't know how they do it, but they always do!
Customer Review: Bliss ! Summary: 5 Stars
This isn't just a blender, it's a wonderful drink maker. You do need to read the instructions, unlike a blender. But once you do, this this cranks out the most wonderful margaritas and frozen drinks you can imagine. Unlike what some of the other reviewers said, it has adjustments to make your drinks as thick aas a snow cone or thin with just a touch snowy ice as you like. It of course shaves the ice so you get a snow like texture not hard ground ice like a blender makes. Our big test was a party of around 150 people. During the course of the evening we causally made around 500 all perfect margaritas . Everyone was very impressed and I bet at least 20 of those people ended up buying one within a month. Everywhere we go now our friends have these makers. Truely the bomb ! Can't imagine a world without them any longer. Our Kitchen Aid and top of the line Warning blenders, we love them too .. but they are out of the frozen drink making business now.
