I do indeed keep this little gem on top of my kitchen counter. I got it as a Christmas present last year. I had seen the infomercials and thought it was hokey. To my amazement I have found I use it most every day. I have a regular size blender that I also recieved as a gift last year and I have used it exactly one time.
The Magic Bullet is so small it doesn't take up much space on the counter. Thus keeping it there is part of the ease of use. I also really appreciate how easy it is to clean.
I've made several of the recipes in the books that one can get for the Magic Bullet and they always turn out wonderfully. I did learn the hard way to make sure the top is screwed on snugly to the base. If not the base part can get dirty and will stick. It took a few times to get it cleaned well enough not to stick any more.
It's important to read the tips for use in the manual. Otherwise items such as onions and tomatoes can be pulverized instead of chopped. It seems to me that many of the negative reviews haven't read the manual or follow directions.
**EDIT** I've has this for 2 and 1/2 years now. I still use it several times a week. I'm contemplating a 2nd one for when/if this one ever gives up the ghost. I'd hate to be w/o it now. Still 5 stars!

Okay, so I purchased this thing at 2am when I was having insomnia - it just seemed like the perfect purchase that would revolutionize my diet. Sadly, I accepted their offer to send me two for just the price of shipping. I was feeling so very burned and guilty about the whole thing that I couldn't even tell my husband for about 4 days. When 2 HUGE boxes showed up at the door, I had to come clean.
When I told my co-workers I had bought the bullet, they howled with laughter. I was the office joke for weeks. Of course, then they asked me to bring it to work!!
Since return shipping would have cost a fortune, I started using the thing. We started with milkshakes, and have since moved to smoothies. I now use it every day at work. I keep 3 bags of frozen fruits in the freezer, a carton of orange juice and a can of soy protein powder. I just finished a strawberry orange peach protein shake and it was delicious!! Now I regularly get smoothy requests from my cube mates. Who's laughing now?
I haven't yet opened the second bullet, but I will soon. I need one for my house too. I have made many many frozen drinks with this thing and it works remarkably well. It purees frozen fruit like nothing - I enjoy it very much and have to give it a good grade.

I can't say anything about the grinding/food processing elements, as that's not what I bought the machine for. I bought it to make fruit smoothies for my diet, and boy howdy does it do that! I use this machine nearly every day at least once, sometimes more, and it's terrific.
One of the major problems everyone else has listed that I have yet to have is the phenomenon where it only blends the bottom, and leaves the top undone. Apparently, this is because you have to fill it up all the way for it to work properly. The design of the blender and cups uses those little ridges inside the cups to help create the blending action, and if you don't fill it up all the way to the top of those ridges, it will not work properly. This is why they supply you with different sizes of cups! If you only want a small amount of something, instead of using the large cup and filling it only part way, use the small cup and fill it completely! Hopefully this will help solve that problem. I have been doing it that way, and I have yet to experience even the smallest hiccup.
I love this thing! My sister and brother-in-law do, too, and have their own Magic Bullet! And I'm even thinking of buying one for my boyfriend! I'm quite pleased with it.

I am unsure as to what was wrong with the other reviewers Magic Bullet, but I've had mine for about 6 months now, and I absolutely LOVE it!!!
I use it daily to make fruit smoothies - it's better than any blender I've ever used at crusing the ice into tiny pieces. I've also used it several times to make home-made soups (from the recipes included with this set), and they turned out GREAT! In fact, it was the best cream of broccoli soup I've had!
It appears that in the past, there was a problem with the seal, and that it would eventually get worn out & start to cause leaks. Well, the company now includes 4 extra seals (which are quite easy to replace) in case this happens. I had this happen to me just last week, and my husband found that you can use the same seal, but just turn it "upside down", and it will start working fine again.
This set comes with so many great add-ons, it would take too much room to write about them all. Suffice it to say that there are 2 blades, several containers that can be placed right on the Bullet, and many great recipes.
Based on my experience with the Magic Bullet, my mother is now looking to buy one for herself, and I would highly recommend it to you too.

I bought my first one when I was pregnant with my daughter who is almost four. Two years ago we moved and the movers lost the base so I bought another one. That is TWO bases that have lasted TWO YEARS each. ALL of the cups and blades are still working, although after all the use they have gotten the blades are starting to get dull. I mostly make smoothies and shakes, but it is good for making nuts into small pieces for recipes or for nut butter as well as chopping other stuff. I also use it to mix pancake batter and just pour it right onto the griddle.
The biggest problem for me is when I don't tighten the blade piece well enough and a little smoothie leaks out into the base. You can not submerge the base to clean and smoothie can get into the whole thing and drains out the bottom. I just rinse it well with some soap and water and let it dry for a few days before I use it again. Another problem I had was when I made cheese sauce and screwed the storage lid on too tight before I put it in the fridge. I had to get my husband to take it off for me.
Overall I love this little blender. So easy to use. All the parts except the base can go in the dishwasher. It can chop right through frozen berries and ice no problem.
