Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Magic Bullet Express 17-Piece High-Speed Blender Mixing System

Customer Review: Extremely Happy. Works Very Well.
Summary: 5 Stars

I really like mine. I saw the infomercial and then went to QVC and purchased it. It's the exact same thing, but QVC put their name on it. I also got a 19 piece set, but what you get is slightly different. Irregardless of where you buy it, I still think it's a great product.

Originally, I bought it to make chocolate milkshakes, slushes and chocolate mousse. It does all of these things extremely well. All ingredients are thoroughly combined. Although, when adding chocolate syrup, it does take longer than (the advertised) 10 seconds to combine. I'd say a milkshake takes about 30 secs. to 1 minute. I just pulse it in 10-second increments. To me, this extra time is no big deal.

Another reason I bought this product is because you can make 1 drink right in the drink glass. When one family member wants a milkshake, I don't have to get out the large blender. When I'm done, the only thing I have to wash is the glass that the milkshake was made AND drunk in, the colored ring that screws on to the lip of the glass, and the blade. Clean-up is less than 60 seconds. This is great for me since I don't have a dishwasher.

Tonight we made Salsa for the first time. We made some that was chunky and some that was more blended. Both tasted great. In both, the ingredients were equally chopped.

As time goes on, I plan to experiment more with this product. But, so far, these are the only things we've made. I've only had it for 2 weeks. Although, we have made many slushes and milkshakes. It gets used every day.

I still have a KitchenAid 12-cup food processor that I use regularly. I also have a Cuisinart chopper, also used regularly. I did not buy this product to replace these items. I bought it to make quick desserts, snacks, and specialty drinks - in individual servings.

I feel that, in these areas, it shines.

Customer Review: As advertised!!! Awesome product!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I don't know why so many people are putting this thing down. I have had NO problems with it, and I have had it for over a year. The person complaining about the "host" on tv not having to scoop out chunks etc., is nitpicking little things. In my opinion it is better than any blender I have ever owned, and I have had at least 4 blenders, the last one was a smoothie maker. I thought that was the best blender out there, but I was wrong.

This thing chops, blends, and pulverizes. I made my own peanut butter the other day, and it was yummy! I just bought some peanuts, put them along with canola oil in the bullet and pulverized it. Then I added some splenda to sweeten it, and it was a great sugar free peanut butter. I have also made smoothies with it, and I HAVE chopped ice with it plenty of times, and when the bullet is done with it, the ice looks like powder, so the ones out there saying it does not chop ice good, well they may have a defective product. I love making pina coladas with it also.

I am currently on a low carb diet, and this bullet is great for making low carb recipes. Especially ones that call for using crushed pork rinds as a breading. Before I had to crush the rinds with whatever I could find, and I was always left with big chunks, but now I put them in my magic bullet, and I am left with a fine powder.

Clean up with this product is a breeze. When I am done, all I have to do is rinse the blades under hot water, and that's it. If it's something messy in the cup, most of the time I soak it in hot water and dish detergent, and wash it later with no problem. All I have to say is FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!!!! Read them first before you attempt to use this product! It will help you to keep it in good shape!

Customer Review: I use my Magic Bullet everyday
Summary: 5 Stars

How interesting that so many people don't like this thing, because I use it everyday. My boyfriend laughed when it came, something from an informercial. Even I thought it would have limited uses, but I've used it almost everyday for 6 months. It depends on your imagination. If you don't want "mush" as some complain, PULSE the machine. Yes, it does chop onions. And herbs like parsley. And nuts for brownies. Heck, if it's a small recipe, mix the brownies (corn bread, whatever) in it! (There's only 2 of us, so it's just right.) I make my meatballs - make a slurry of garlic, onions, herbs, milk, breadcrumbs - and mix it into the meat so that no one bites into a big onion. I make wholewheat pancakes, wholewheat ginger muffins, and blueberry, etc. I whip up a sour cream/egg/cheese mixture of mini quiches in muffin cups. We are health enthusiasts, so we use if for protein pancakes, and protein drinks, and, well, the list goes on and on. The blades do engage (perhaps someone else's was defective), just a little pulsing and sometimes a little shaking to redistribute, but honestly, I use this thing all the time. Reversing the blades from the bottom of the container to the top makes so much sense when it comes to pouring the contents out. And when I'm finished, I fill it with a little water and soap, blend it, and it's clean to use again (although I throw all the parts in the dishwasher everytime I run the dishwasher - so easy). Forget the recipes in the book . . . just get used to it and think of what you're cooking and where the Magic Bullet would help out! Oh, and we're addicted to our banana "ice cream" sundaes - using protein powder and frozen bananas with a splash of milk - cold, creamy, topped with a little chocolate and good for us!

Customer Review: worth every penny even when I payed approx. $100 when it first came out.
Summary: 5 Stars

I payed approx. $100 when this product first came out a few years ago, and I still think the purchase cost of product was worth every penny.

I love this multi-function blender/processor.
I use it on a regular to freshly grind coffee!
I need additional short cups since I usually store additional grounded coffee in it for 1-3 more uses for a week or two, and possibly 2 more closed lids cuz I take my fresh orange carrot juice (I buy prewashed baby carrots and mix it in with OJ) "to go" in the morning sometimes...
which takes 2 seconds to make thanks to the magic bullet blender!

Plus since it lready sits so conveniently on the counter I often make crushed beans with it for quesadillas, nacho chip dip, and veggie enchiladas (I just nuke it in the microwave for 3 minutes-dinner plate reheat-button) after using it for beans I store the left over bean paste (mixed with canned crushed or stewed tomato sauce and jalapeno) into the fridge for next time I want a 5 to 15 mintute prep meal! Then I have to use it to make salted (frozen or shaken) margaritas to go with my mex meal too!

bar margarita = TSLT
T= tequila (1 shot = 2 second count with pourer)
S= sour mix
L= Lime juice (not the green one, but the yellow sweetened kind) (1 shot = 2 second count with pourer)
T= Triple Sec (a.k.a. Orange Liquer) (1 shot = 2 second count with pourer)

fill glass with ice, add the measured ingredients, finish filling with sour mix.

empty into mixer, moisten rim of just emptied glass with lemon or lime wedge, invert into salt(optional jose cuervo margarita specialty salt).

mix the liquids, and pour back into salted glass.

Customer Review: Great for Baby and Toddler Food
Summary: 5 Stars

This is by far the one and only As seen on TV product that I think actually works. I never thought to give it a chance until I saw it recommended in one of my parenting magazines (I don't remember which one). I had to make a return to a company and saw they carried it, so thought I'd give it a shot, as it was nearly an even exchange and I could always return it, if needed.

I have a 15 month old who refuses to eat finger foods--it's as though he has a "texture thing," and those stage 3 baby food jars are getting REALLY expensive and I'm looking to save money, especially since our family will be expanding in the next few months. So, this is why I bought it--to try to make acceptable food for my little boy.

Granted, I never need a blender, mixer, coffee grinder, or even a food processor. The only blender we have, I bought to make diet shakes (back a few years ago) and it was so big and had so many parts that it has just ended up as clutter in a cabinet somewhere.

So, my first test. I put some pineapple into the small cup (perfect size for a toddler)and tapped the top just a couple of times. It came out great! It was the perfect consistency! If I needed it pureed, I would've just left it going, but I needed it to be a little chunky, so only tapped it twice. Then, I just spooned out the food into his bowl and rinsed the cup and blade with warm water--that was it!

It's the same process with dinners and lunches. I just take what we're having and tap the top 2 or 3 times to blend the food yet keep it chunky. It comes out wonderfully.

So, for what I need it to do, it's a great little machine and I recommend it for small tasks such as this.
