This must be the only truly natural laundry soap. It grows on trees. And it works great. I have used it for months on my laundry and now I can't believe that I was using factory made chemicals on my body my whole life. The clothes are really soft and don't smell industrial. I found some refrences in Chinese herbal medicine that it is good for skin problems, so I gave some to a friend and it healed his athletes feet. I was looking for an eco-friendly way to do laundry when I came upon Maggie's Soap Nuts. They seemed a little strange but got great reviews so I tried them. I can't tell you how much I love this product!!!! I put 4 nuts in the little pouch that was included and was able to do five loads of laundry. My clothes came out so soft and clean--I was amazed!! Maggie's soap nuts are actual nuts that grow on trees in Indonesia, they are a renewable, biodegradable product. Load for load, the price is comparable to comercial laundry products, I'm still keeping a tally on my first box but if the $18.95 size actually does 80 loads it will come out to 24 cents a load.
What's even better is that they also work! They leave the clothes so soft that you won't even need fabric softener (another $ savings.)

This product is very interesting. When the soap nuts arrived I could not get over the fact that I was about to use them to wash my clothes- they look like something that could have fallen off a tree in my own yard! None-the-less they do seem to work fine for washing clothes. I have not yet tried them for any other uses. The box includes a "free gift" which is a pair of soap nut dangling earrings (if you enjoy wearing earthy styles, you'd probably really like them).Customer Review: So Far So Good

We have been using soap nuts for awhile now and absolutely love them.. They not only clean the clothes but leave them soft as well.. My wife has a sensitivity to fabric softener so this has been a nice change to have soft jeans again.. We have washed everything from smokey camp clothes, Cat urine sprayed items and workout clothes and all have come out clean and fresh smelling.. Good product.. Reading the box can be amusing too..
