Received the CanDo Safety Can Opener. We had an old Swing Away opener (that replaced a never working properly electric opener) that never worked great and finally didn't work at all. The CanDo works so well that you wonder why this technology isn't used on all openers. The icing on the cake is that it IS DISHWASHER SAFE! If you took a culture of our old opener, I can only imagine what you would find. At this price it's a no-brainer.Customer Review: Handly little gadget

Once I was used to this can opener, it won me over. It may be a little perplexing when first getting started, but once you get the hang of it, you'll love it. The lid comes off neatly, using little effort, with zero chance of 'lid dust' getting into your food when opening the can, as the lid is cut from the side instead of the top. It is a good habit to wipe off any can before opening, however - no matter what tool you're using.Customer Review: Safety Can Opener

I can't imagine why people still want can openers that cut steel and leave sharp edges, when this kind of can opener has long been available.
Yet I searched in vain in stores when my old faithful gave out. Only on the internet did I find it, and even there some were "out of stock". But Amazon had this at the best price and it turned out to be an improvement even over my old one.

This can opener does a great job. At first I didn't think it was working. It is very light weight and gets the can open very quickly. No sharp edges from the lid to cut yourself on. Great product. It was time to graduate from our old manual can opener to something a bit more user friendly. I considered buying an electric or handheld battery operated one, but I decided on this model and I am very satisfied. Easy to use, produces smooth edges, versatile. I brought it to work for a pot luck and it's compact, safe, and works anywhere. It's also a great value.
